My best estimate based on schematics of the Enterprise refit is that the torpedo tubes measure about 2m wide, which is more than enough to accommodate the coffin-sized casings we've seen on-screen. That's what I'm going with unless anyone can come up with something better.

looking good though I think the torp launchers look to old school compared to the design of the ship but ill hold out final jdgment for the fully finished textured renders of the ship

I thought a scale reference might be useful for evaluating the size of the torpedo launch tubes as well as other parts of the ship...

Sure enough, those things are big enough to launch a Peugeot!

By the way, the car model was an uncredited freebie I downloaded off some 3D Website or other a while back.

I think that does an awesome job of helping to illustrate just how big these ships in Star Trek really are.

Sorry, pet peeve of mine when mentally picture these like fightercraft or something. They're enormous.

First off, Vektor, Stop that, stop that right now!

I'm refering of course to blowing my mind once again with such beautiful work.

Second, when I built the launch tubes for my carrier I also based them on the size of my standard human (the one I use to establish scale) so all that has been said before sounds as close to right as we're probably going to get.

Third, I truly feel sorry for the poor soul whose car is about to be the first automobile to be destroyed by a photon torpedo (atleast as far as I know).

That is seriously wierd too.

Amazing work. Very nice indeed.

All I can think of though is... "I really want to see that car fired from the tube"
*makes a firing sound and pictures the car flying through space*
