Windows will be just about the last things I do on this model since I won't be able to do much to the hull once they are cut into it. I might start adding them in a few places fairly soon but the vast majority of them will have to wait a while yet.

Everything is modeled, no special plugins. Most of the secondary hull is a collection of Sub-D objects, almost none of which have been frozen or optimized yet, and the primary hull is a mix of lathed shapes, Sub-D's and other objects. The edges on the Sub-D's are pretty smooth but most everything else still needs work.

No. They're mainly aesthetic, but I suppose you might rationalize them as flush vents for waste matter pulled in by the bussard collectors. At one point I though about making them impulse engines when I was struggling to find another place for them on the stardrive section, but I went with the single engine on the back of the neck section instead.

There is some recent influence. It's basically the same material for both ships, but the plating pattern is smaller and denser on the Grandeur and the reflectivity is not as high. You have to remember, though, that these are still temporary textures, even though they don't look half bad as they are if I do say so. The final texturing will be similar but much more precise.

My old website, www.vektorsdomain.com, has changed to Vektor Visual - Home. I recently rebuilt the site from scratch and I haven't gotten any farther than the basic framework, but I hope to have samplings of most of my past work up there within the next couple of months. For the moment, there are links to all of my current projects on forums like Scifi-Meshes.
