Sweet mate, very sweet. (Especially since GW neglected to give any of the ships underside weapons.)

Now working on the rear section and engines, I won't add too much detail to the upper side panels as much of it is hidden by superstructure elements in the different versions. I may even remove those areas from the main model and add them to the option parts as only the type 2 variant has all the panels exposed and as the poly count is already over 400,000 it will help save a few polys on the other variants.

Combat is what its all about my friend. In the past I've found myself building stuff from various sources, chiefly anime and 40K, but I always ended up building things all from one side, limiting what I could do in the way of combat images. This time I'm doing it right and building ships from both sides right from the start. There will undoubtedly be an exchange of fire as soon as the infidel is done and hostilities will escalate as I get further ships built.

Don't let that stop you submitting it to the meshes section though, probably other people will want it and I would at least like to take a look at it, as I hope to build a Blackstone myself at some point. No update pics today, a combination of being zombied out on the night shift this week and removing and rebuilding the stern section of the Infidel has meant that I haven't progressed as much as I would like to have. Hopefully I will have something to show sometime tomorrow. | |

The stern area now has seperate panels for the three variants. I've added a couple of shuttle bays to the central panel, which is common to all three versions and a few more landing bays on the panel for the type two which doesn't have the big towers seen on the other versions. I'm now working on the keel section, this is the last major area of the main core to be done, after that its time to start working on the option parts. I've also built the triple-A turret, a low poly version for day to day use and a more detailed version for closer shots, the weapons are turbo lasers, the same as the secondary batteries on Warlord Titans except triple barreled instead of twin.

Very cool mate, those Turbolasers look awesome. (And the ones on a Warlord Titan look more for air defense anyway.)
