Great job! I'm glad that some one has put togather all the TNG ranks in one nice picture. Just curious, though, what do the pips with the star in them starnd for/used for?

the stars with a gold pip back are alternat non-canon Admiral/General ranks. the set of ranks with just black pips are warrant officer. The bars with black centers are warrant officer 5th class... then below them are the enlisted of course
