View Full Version : 3D Another Tau'ri Ship
Well I enjoyed working on my last tau'ri ship so much I felt it was time for another. This time it will be a support ship to go with my last one.
Enjoy. :)

LOVE IT!!!! really do, you come up with some really awesome designs, your stargate ships are probably my favourites, keep up all your fatastic work!!!
Thank you. I try to keep my designs with the flow of the show but also being original at the same time. I hope this helps keep them fresh and not just a rehash of the original designs.

Can't wait to see both of these ships fully finished.
Have you any plans to create more and create a space version of a carrier group?

Have you any plans to create more and create a space version of a carrier group?Well I do have plans to do more ships and it may very well become it's own carrier group by the end. :)

May i ask what program you use for your modeling

both of those ships are looking brilliant mate!
I love the bigger one, it looks a good deal more aggressive than the ships from the show, which is fantastic.
Its good that u are putting bigger guns on them too, I think the great shields/**** weapons thing with the tau'ri ships is a bit annoying, i wanna see em battle with and destroy an enemy ship in the normal manner, not just beem on a nuke and leg it! I like a scrap...like the one in camelot..but less depressing.
It would be great to see an animation like that!
A kind of coming of age in human technology.
Okay! u have inspired me to create some tau'ri stuff! ama go build something!
I will await your next update
Nice work!
IainB
Althalus - Thank you. Now as for which program I use, that would be lightwave.
IainB - Thank you very much and I look forward to your own ship. :)

Great looking ship, the Ares looks awesome, but I don't see any fighter bays. Generally Tau'ri vessels have fighter bays.
Are those bussard collectors at the front of the engine pods in your iso view?

Well this ship will play the role of a support vessel in a battle group so it has no need for the fighter bay.
The red part on the ship is part of the hyper drive system.

Great ship. I was wondering if you have any stats on this ship yet.
that looks pretty cool, any chance on some 6 view orthos?Maybe over the weekend. Right now I'm coming up with ideas for a fighter and a carrier to fill in this battlegroup.
Great ship. I was wondering if you have any stats on this ship yet.Right now just on weapons which are 20 light rail guns an 2 large fixed rail cannons. She does carry some nukes but they are for beam over use only and she does not have any fighter bay since she is a dedicated gun ship. The other tech used in the ship is very similar to the battleship Excalibur since they were designed to complement each other.
Well I have been playing with an idea for a dedicated carrier and here is what I have so far.

Nice.
How many fighters can it hold?
She will be about the same size if not bigger than my battleship so I would say about 100+ fighters.

Not sure if this has been asked before, but what are those red things where the 302 bays usually are? Like the ship otherwise, looks like something that could conceivably be in the series.

Well I once saw a rendered scene of the Prometheus flying in hyperspace with it's front hyperdrive ports glowing red. I loved the look so much I have added it into all my earth ships.

Another great work. RJB did it again, they develop a Command Carrier, Destroyer and a battleship.
Really, it's great. Can you design an A-102 Spitfire. The A-102 is equipped with a nose mounted rail gun for defense and twin plasma turrets under each wing for ground attack. It lacks a shield generator outside of a re-entry shield, but It's made up for with its heavy armor, only made possible with the partial use of an anti-gravity engine that supports the main drive
Also a B5 Liberator Bomber

As long as you give credit for the original design feel free to make it. I'd love to see another person take on the ship.
After watching Casperhead work on his amazing Deadalus, he has inspired me to get back to work and finish the one I started months back. She won't be as detailed as his but I'm sure when it's done it will be a nice addition to my now growing fleet.

I can show you how to get it as detailed as mine its a pretty simple trick really. Also on the show they never use any radiosity seeing how it takes long. Its all basicly original renders

Thanks Casperhead.

RJB : I like this. I have not had a chance to follow the StarGate series since about season 4, but I have caught parts of things here or there. I like the way your designs "fill in the gaps" of the ships on the show.
Any chance of working on Gau'ld ships? We saw Ra's yacht as it were in the movie, and we've seen the command ships of Apophis and Anubis. What about showing what you think Ra's command ship would have looked like?
