Nice Star Destroyer redesign. :thumb: Good start on the modeling and the textures are particularly nice.

Since this is for a game, will it be low poly?

Crix Dorius

Well... it was concepted as highpoly. But a lowpoly is possible. :)

I like it! How long is this ship? Given its rather speedy shape I would assume it's a screening ship of some sort..? Anyhow great design (how can you go worng with star destroyery designs).

Cheers,

Nice little ship.
Still no match for the over powerful Ori.

Coolness. I really like it, though I rarely 1.) like star wars designs. 2.) see many original ones on SFM

So this is like a "Star Destroyer" destroyer or frigate huh.

(note star destroyer destroyer as in that weight class, not as in a destroyer of other star destroyers, that would be um... like an ori cruiser or a borg cube or some such thing. heheh)

It`s 700m long... Concepted as patrolship, convoyguardian, interceptor and blockaderunner.

Yes... It`s more like a frigate...
fast...
landing capable...

With 600 Stormtroopers, one AT-AT, two AT-ST`s, some speederbikes and AT-RT`s and a TIE/I Squad

With 6 heavy turbolaser batteries , 3 warhead launchers, 10 concussion missile launchers, 40 quad turbolaser batteries and 4 class II tractor beam projectors.

There will be a better sketch in the future...

yeesh *l* 700 meters long makes only ~slightly~ smaller than a sovereign class starship. just what IS george lucas compensating for with all these huge ships? ;)

Well you have to remember in Star Wars they don't have replicators so they actually need space for supplies. I would assume this is the main reason why Star Wars ships are so much larger.

Nice concept....... She looks fast! One observation though...why the ATAT? If she can land why need to carry such a big troop carrier? The reason I ask is because you never mentioned a pre-fab garrison. Most big Imperial Cruisers carry ATATs for support for those garrisons. In my opinion I would switch out the ATAT for 2 Sentienal Class landing craft(for general support and troop movements) or for another TIE squadron.Thats just me ..and she is your ship:) I was wondering is she early, mid, or late civil war era? I think the Interceptors came out around the Battle of Hoth(correct me if Im wrong) She is also carrying late clone wars AT RTs..interesting, I had asumed that they would be phased out by then. But whos to say. Can you make her carry a couple of AT STRs as well(stealth recon atst)?

Im interested about that lone ATAT. It could be that its not part of the ships original complement and some Firebrand Imperial Captain keeps it aboard for reasons of his own.:D Native Stomping Recreation:D Just kidding man just kidding. Like the ship and will be following your progress.:)

Hehehe, walsing in on an AT-AT is a sure way to attain godhood by many a primitive tribe :D

I like the disign a lot. It's looking like a clean SW design. I assume that the two spherical things on the bottom are gravity well projectors for interdiction purposes? One thing I find lacking on the design are the two shield projectors on top of the bridge, they will add some instant extra SW flavour I think.

Crix Dorius

Well... they have replicators. But not for food, so far I know. More industrial for buidlings or large shipparts.

Why the AT-AT ?
Simple...
1.) It`s not just a troopcarrier... it`s a mobile artillery too.
2.) Scarefactor.

It`s late civil war era. Very late. In the RPG for what it is the history changed between Thrawn`s intervention. So that a part of the empire gain more power and become a seriously conterpart to the NR.

So they are now in the tenth year after Endor.

Oh well... that are not clone wars AT-RT`s... they are more advanced.

At-STR`s ? Never heared from them.

Oh... yeah... that not two grav-projectors... thats one reactorcore... bad sketched

I never thought that two globes would be shieldgenerators. Sensorglobes yes. But never Shields.

Between here a little better sketch.

I don`t have good sketching-utensils at work... just a pen and checkered paper.

P.S.: I don`t know if I should let the VSD-like wings in the concept or kick them... well... will see... ;)

P.P.S.: Oh... and it has an grav-projector... but intern. ^^

Nice design

I thought those we're Victory wings in your first post, I say keep them, it just kind of makes it a bit different.

I havn't heard of AT-STR's either, and I couldn't even find them with google, care to explain Road Warrior?

Oh sure I almost forgot about them myself. They are not mentioned as specific AT-STr's though.....X-Wing Rogue Sqaudron: The Rebel Oposition- last page. The two armored walkers that burst into the clearing are acording to one character"Muffled for stealth" . One being an (artistic liscened) AT-ST. The other one is slightly different with sort of a quasi ATAT head with independantly targeted chin weapons. Since this one is just slightly bigger than the AT-ST I figured that it was a pure stealth design(more nimble and such) AT-ST-r....I dont know maybe....
Let me look at the New Essential Guide To Vehicles and Vessels....it never mentions it as a varient though...It does mention a ten meter tall version known as the Assualt Walker or AT-ST/A.......that would be neat. But I could be wrong about the walker that appeared in the comic being an AT-ST/R..Seams to fit the profile though.

I concure - an AT-AT headed my way on the battlefield would scare the hell out of me! Oh couldnt find anything on the At-STRs...:( sorry.

Sooo...

A first rough build.

Looks smaller and more technologically advanced than the average ISD, with it's more "closed" hull and sleeker form.
And this lateral hangar is unusual for a ISD and reminds me a bit of the Invisible Hand.
Looks like either an ship from the very beginning or the very end of the empires reign.

But for sure I like this vessel.

Another rough.

Now from the engines.

So how big is it going to be? Light destroyer, ~1km size?

I like the engine layout, but maybe go for bigger secondary nozzles?

Frigate or light Destroyer. 700m long.

Hmmm... Bigger 2nd. nozzles.
Maybe... I will think about it.
