Foundation Imaging receives the studio scale Enterprise model from Paramount to be the basis for the CG versions used in The Director's Edition. On this page there are a few videos of the process, including the uncrating of this ship and the Klingon Bird of Prey with a lot of close-ups on The Enterprise. Can't hurt to have another reference, right? Especially from the actual model! :)
