Here is my universe's version of the MiG-21 in three different stages of development. My idea was to go for a look the suggested a MiG and a Soyuz capsule had a lovechild and work from there. So the earliest is the bluish one with russian markings, then a later version in natural metal with "Manchurian" markings, and finally the all grey one with Pakistani Markings.

Interesting, so why do the engines look like that?

Well, from a design point I was trying to go for the look of the Voskhod A-2 rocket- you know, ridiculously overpowered. Just a general brawn over brains look. As far as how they would work operationally? Haven't a clue, I'm not a engineer or a physicists;)

I think it's a cool idea, I recently found that I enjoy kettle shaped engines and non-air breathing jets are cool. Although, I take it that at least the first two are air breathing.

I've actually redone it and will be posting in along with some other stuff in a few days- it's a zillion times better and has a 3 view blueprint.

Thanks, but necroposting on old topics, especially real old ones like this, is seriously fround upon.
