Here are some Macross VF-11 color schemes done by me over the years based on a third party line art. Some here might remember them from Macrossworld.

I thought they look better overall with RL markings than what ever canon colors from the series.

@chrono..thx for comments..i wish i had higher resolution too but the templates were created way back using a crusty old pc. I'll definitely use much higher res for future projects (maybe Star Mirage or VA-3).

Hello fellow Macross Fan, Excellent work on the VF-11 Thunderbolt II along with applying the squadron markings on the Airframe. Looking forward to seeing other squadron markings on the VF-11. :thumb:

BTW-I would like to see squadron markings done on other Macross mecha like the VF-1 Valkerie, VF-9 Cutlass, VF-14/VA-14 Hunter, VF-17 Nightmare, VF-19 Excalibur, VF-5000 StarMirage, VF-22 Sturmvogel II,VA-3 Invader and the VB-6 Koenig Monster.

Also are you planning to do a 4-view Ortho schematics on the VF/VA/VB mecha.
I don't think anyone has done a schematic before on Macross VF/VA/VB mechas.

Thank you for the comment..i have a Diamondbacks Low-vis, just upgrading the template a little and they probably be up a bit later. I wished they could be bigger but had to settle for hardware limits back then running at a much reduced resolution.

A Koenig Monster or Vampire would be difficult since no canon othographic style lineart of them had ever been released. So any sideview/topview.etc would be fan conjecture with all kind of proportion problems.

As for VF othographics out there, the only ones are:-

VF-1A/J/S: 4 views including battroid and gerwalk by Mwer member
VF-2SS w/ SAP armour: 4 views by me
VF-19F/S: Side and Top only
VF-11 normal: Side view and Top by various Mwers
VF-11 Fast Pack version: Sideview by Mwer Nied

Plus other sideviews of assorted VF craft like VF-4, VF-1(canon and hasegawa versions), VF-5000, VF-3000, Hikaru Fanracer, VF-19A/YF-19, VF-22S (hasegawa).etc to be found.

I've checked the Red Baron with a different pc/monitor set and it does look 'pinkish'. I did sample the color from an existing RB Fokker Tri-plane so this comes as a surprise to me too.

1. Norm83 scheme as seen on some German IDS Tornado's during the mid 80s.
2. New eurofighter low vis scheme used by current Luftwaffe units.
3. Darker Eagle scheme based on current pacaf eagle colors.

You never know but i might return to making more VF-11 schemes some time in the future. I am glad to hear you like the schemes. The biggest difficulty with doing the schemes relate to finding the right fonts for some of the air forces. Markings are normally taken from model kit decals sheets or from scratch using illustrator.

CoolUser, Thanks for doing the Russian Knights and the Swift Demo Team paint schemes, they look better then I could ever imagine. Like always nice job on the other AF and Navy paint schemes. Unfortunately there are so many possibilities with paint schemes and squadron markings for the VF-11, that there would be no way for you to do them all.

But like you said its time to move on to another VF mecha. What ever is the next VF mecha that you choose to do next, I'm sure the paint schemes and squadron markings would look good on them as well.

Personally I think you should take a stab at the VF-5000 StarMirage or the VF-22 Sturmvogel II, those are some mean looking VF mechas!!! :D

I agree its impossible to cover all possible paint schemes for 11. I am definitely working on a new mecha soon plus there is the Ghost AIF-9 still to do and the VF-5000 being the most requested after the 19.

Done a few russian schemes not necessarily of a certain squadron but they are mostly generic anyway.

Cool, Some final updates on VF-11 squadron markings. They look great!!!
