This thread was a screw up, sorry. The model was by RJB. I didn't not know this, and I was new to SFM at the time. I apologize for my ignorance, and will not let this happen again.

the pov doesn't work at all. this photo looks, like it has been taken from man height, but the gate should be much bigger. it's about 6 meter in diameter, so i'd suggest to fit it that. way.

Other than what spec said. You really need to work on the lighting of the model. Its close but not right. Also the textures... The puddle looks as if you got it off the show off a low res rip. You should really make your own texture to get a better quality. Also the gate texture is really too plane... You should add detalis. even subtle ones. prehaps add some modeling details as well...

I saw the same picture of a gate here on scifi meshes. If you look through a couple of the stargate threads you'll probably find the author.
As I understand it, you composed the images together? Maybe it should be posted in the 2D gallery if so

Like I said, it's my first try, but thanks for the constructive criticism :D

The gate is a model by RJB. you should talk to him about it. Other than that it is too close for a gate. The image and gate don't scale right.
you need to update the credits and make sure you attach the image to the first post

Is RJB the name of the user here, or is it an abbreviation?
If the gate itself was white, with the blue lights as-is, it'd look like an Ori gate design :)

RJB is a username here. I thought i recognized that gate as his.
....
Looking at that image you've just cut and pasted one of his renders into the original photos.
not cool man
Yeah thats my gate and an early wip at that.
It would have been nice to have been asked about using the gate and better if credits got added.
The original image.

I'm sorry RJB, I didn't know it was you who did it, do you have a version that has more textures on it?

No, I said I made the compilation of all those pics into that big 'ol eye sore. I just wanta say I don't have the (blank)s to take on someone else and say that I made their work, I barely know how to model. Again, very sorry if it came off the wrong way.

You still need to credit RJB on the final picture, as it was his model used. In the future, you should also ask permission from the artist before using his work.

I'll definitely remember that, and I'm gonna go edit my post now.
Really sorry about the incidents so far :/
