Here's a couple of concept sheets for this one. The earlier arrow shaped ones on the first page were actually based off an older idea of mine that I never properly modelled. The diamond ones are original though now that I look at it I keep thinking of that that escape ship on the Nostromo(?).

This probably be a fairly lightly armed scoutship designed for speed, stealth, and manouverability.

That shape back bit is allowed right?

Don't forget what Sphinx said! It must be obvious as to what primitive it's suppose to be. ;)

So if it looks incomplete than it probably won't work. I would keep the corners intact as much as possible to keep the shape familiar.

Like that tho' altogether it might be too complex with that aft section...

You can cut into the aft section as much as you want as long as the overall impression remains true. As you go, make sure that the silhouette or plan view still would give the impression of a diamond (as that is your chosen shape) - try perhaps, showing it to other people who don't know about the challenge and ask them to tell you what shape it is - if they honestly come out with diamond, its probably acceptable.

Well I drew out a quick silhoutte and asked. One said arrowhead, another said spearhead. Ironically an arrowhead shape was what I was thinking of when I started drawing that mut then decided it loked more diamondy. Can I change the title or is it too complicated a shape?

The title is irrelevant really - its the ultimate perception of a primitive that is important. If you want a title change, fine - what do you want, 'arrowhead'? It does not have to be the shape that is in the title - it can be a description of what you are trying to build just as easily.

IMOP if you are wanting an arrow shape style i would go for the first silhoutte because your second seems a little too much like the super star destroyer from star wars but thts just me but still great designs can't wait to see more.:thumb:

I suppose arrowhead works fine yeah. Now I just need to figure out how to model it. :D:D

ah right, sorry forgot to label them. The first was the top down view, the second was a side view. And your right about the star destroyer thing I hadn't really noticed that. Still this is mean to be quite a bit smaller than that.

Hey why not go for a SW SD ship it is after all one of the most widely known primitives to be used as a ship :P
