From your sketches so far, it looks like it meets the criteria. I think it will make an interesting idea.

Thanks for the comment.
As promised i have started to model the whole thing but theres not mch of it yet just the basic shaper and some other details. i have also modeled the actual beam emmiter itself and played aroun with a few basic textures.
will post more soon

Is this a space based platform?(The docking bay thing would indicate eys but not necessarily) If so why not turn the other corners into thrusters for pointing it?

my intial thought when coming up with this design was to have it be one of several based in egypt to blend into its surroundings in away but as you have metioned it would be better to have a space platform instead. thanks for the input

I like your approch to the pyramid however might i make the suggestion if you want to show off the peace in the top section why not close it out and make it look like it has 4 glass sides so you can see into it.

This has inspired the project i am gonna start soon..... nice work

If this is space based, will it be deployed in groups?

I like the idea, it just needs some fleshing out

hey all sorry for not posting sooner but i have had an art exam. i have done some updates and a render of paneling but the computer that i work on the tower will not turn on at all.

If this is space based, will it be deployed in groups?

the idea of making them a kind of mini fleet never accured to me once i finish the whole piece and do a final render

i think this may answer your question i have remodeled the top section so that it is more open so you can see the main weapon more like you mentioned in one of your earlier posts

In spite of recent events i have quickly redun my model however i have changed it in a few ways first of all i have reduced the scale significantly to about a little bigger than an average person i have added landing gears as well but kept the old design of the weapon head any comments are welcome. I've also started thinking about what i can do for the final render for challenge ten and i come up with something that i think you all will like.:p

Not a quad core its a dual core :p As for the rest not too shabby for a prebuilt system... it will definetally get the job done.

I'd go with intel chips if you can, they are much better ATM.

I really like the glowy laser bit! How did you do that?

the laser was quite simple actually i came accross it all i did was create a tube add a transparent purple blinn to it turn the glow intensity up and then created a helix streched it out abit added another purple blin to it turned the reflectivity on and the glow intensity way up.

And thanks for the input on the computer specs aswell:D
