Challenge #9 – Dann-O – Brainbeast

Well since I have not ever tried one of these it is about time. This Brainbeast is based on a story by Fredrick Pohl from Planets 3. It is a member of a once powerful race that through accidents in genetic engineering run amok are now trapped in the body of a non sentient life form that they have no control over. They can only communicate through telepathy but they cannot communicate to the beasts tiny brain that controls the beasts movements.

Modeling is in Wings 3D and rendering of the final critter will be in PMG messiah along with the rigging of the critter.

A quick render with a few shaders I cooked up. I am working on taking it in a different direction. A more pragmatic approach to it with no exposed brain but her eis a render with shaders no GI.
