Here is my junker, the hover buggy, designed for the post appocolptic world, where people have trouble getting new parts, and everything is cobbled together from old sources.
Edit, seems like people are posting theirs full sized, so here goes mine to.

The bulb - the carriage of the rich! a multirange rocket/helicopter hybrid which allows intracity flights as well as intercontinental flights. passenger versions have room for up to 20 people but most bulbs are owned by rich industrialists and contain office equipment and/or luxurious furniture.

Ok, well, not the best model here, but Im posting anyways. This is the skyway rail system. It operates by electro magnets that pull the car along the rail. People sit inside the sphere, which rotates, so that the car is always facing up, no matter the direction the craft is going. All is controlled by an automatic computer.
In the image attached:
Top left: Switch track system, uses the same tech
Top Right: Interior
Bottom Left: Skyway itself
Bottom Right: View of the supports used by the car.

After hundreds of years of nuclear war most major cities have been destroyed. There are a few cities around the world but most living is done underground or in radiation safe buildings. The atmosphere is in ruins. Winds blow at hundreds of miles per hour. The only way to travel between far cites and transport cargo and goods is to ride a 'winter sailer' that uses the wind that now blows across the barren earth surface.
cheers!

On a far planet in a time when the grand empire of humanity's beacon has since been extinguished, a group of colonists live out their lives. Devoid of the high technology they once had, the colonists now use the domesticated prairy beasts to haul their wares and such from one town to another.

In the not to distant future:
The world has been devestated by a decades long war. Most cities are in ruins, but still function out of the necesity to supply the war effort. The population can no longer afford individual transportation, and no road system remains intact. What raw material there is is mostly devoted to the war effort, but what little is left goes to the construction of the monolithic transports that crawl slowly over the city, removing rubble and moving people back and forth from the factories that work day and night to build the machines of war...

Holds about 300, extra people get to sit on the roof.
Claws extend from the front to remove rubble from its path.
Good luck everyone, and thanks to everybody who helped me, it was much appreciated.:thumb:

The worlds fuels supplies have run out, no viable alternative has been found. The world returns to the age of sail and animal power, with small isolations of power production (via solar collection and wind farms). The only remaining high tech item still functioning is the Anti-Grav generator. A single power cell will keep a generator functioning almost indefinitely. A gravity compensator enables the craft (or building) to remain stationary or to be move by wind or animal power.

Like any other vehicle of this era, this is a conventional diesel driven design... not many of them left, those which are are often standing still due to the lack of fuel, and the lucky owner is forced to use beasts of burden to tow them around. Originally designed to explore the ever groving deserts in the late 21st centuary, these 4x4s are designed to handle allmost any kind of environment, non-flat tires and rugged suspension is the maine strongsuites of the design!

So there's my entry...
The entire earth is flooded in cause of global warm-up. This ship was designed as a simple, small vehicle capable to travel quickly between the floating cities. It is powered by a small, but powerful hydrogen-fuelled engine. The hydrogen is collected from water. The passengers get in when the force field is lowered (the ship don't uses glass for the cockpit). The field is lowered when stays in contact with air for more than 10 seconds (This value can be changed).

The StarBus TL-12 "Star Troli"
In a peaceful future where humanity has managed not to destroy itself, technology has advanced to the point where it is irrelevant if You want to go to the other side of the city, or the other side of the solar system. A StarBus can bring You there.

Before the great war, scientists were dangerously experimenting with mutagenic substance on spiders, to develop new materials and technologies from there naturally strong webbing. In the aftermath of the total destruction of civilization, these mutated spiders survied, mutated, and evolved for a hundred years into what is now known as the hook-back spider. The survivors utilized these spiders for tranportation and as beasts of burden. The spider mount is well suited for scavaging the waste lands and rubble of the great cities for lost technologies. The basic spider mount is rigged with a carriage that rotates when climbing steep and verticle surfaces. The spider mount can be fitted with a cargo rack, and a camera and view screen, not seen for obvious reasons.
Sorry this so late. Got busted at work and lost about six hours I thought I would have. I will understand if it is too late.

In whats left of the cities, the terrain is mostly impassable, ground travel is perilous.
Using some advanced genetic engineering on an irradiated mutant breed of bugs, a new species was specifically developed for ease of travel. Cybernetic implants are inserted during its development to make it easier to control and more comfortable to ride.

The year is 2079, the Earth has been ravaged by a failed attempt to stop an incoming "Armageddon Asteroid". Sufficed to say, sharp toxic asteroid fragments litter the wasteland, making it dangerous to make contact with the ground. The Magnacar by Sulvana, skims over the land using a projected EM field to pull itself forward, and standard anti-grav technology to hover. ladder extends to disembark.
The magnetic exhaust is then given a neutral charge and channeled to the 12 spikes that protrude from the magnetic generator. Due to the fact there are not many computers left on Earth, EMI is not a problem. Magnacars are only for the Upper class that can afford them, and are considered a luxery. It can seat up to 7 people in a compartment at the front.

well where to start, my texturing is horrid and my modelling is OK.
Regardless, here is the voidrunner, and old desert mining facility converted to
a wastelands transport, one of the few mostly whole pieces of "old tech" that survived the nanite wars of 2270.
Many lives were lost, but many also survived, buried deep underground in suspension chambers completely isolated from the outside, re-awakened the survivors, some of them made it out, but most fell to the mutant bands that plauge the now irradiated wastelands of the planet earth, the voidrunner is a re-fitted omni-corp Versatile Outlands Integrated Defense platform or Void.
She runs a maximus systems supercharged prometheum 9KLv
Generating more than 500,000 horsepower and close to a million ft pounds of torque. the engine uses a nanitrolene/air/monoxide mix to create a miniature "nova" in each cylinder.
The defense batteries are a mix of flak, nanite shellers, and stub guns.
The void runner runs two tokomak type XVI reactors, which are smaller than a human fist but have the power of 3 nuclear missles, they rarely need to be maintained.
The owner Jacob khaine, found the void runner buried in an old military base by accident, He was being chased by a factionist and stumbled upon the crashed starship that had this in it's heavies bay.
Omni-corp knows of it's existence and is constantly trying to reclaim it to gain access to it's AI, which holds a data key that would run a machine capable of restoring the biosphere on earth, and sending A distress signal to alpha centauri, which was a refuge for the remnants of the devastated earth.
However, in the wrong hands the key could also activate a device that would make the user of the device a God on earth.
The webcomic i am using this model for is called Dark Risings,
It might be done in the next month or so....

The Getabout
2020 World War III has come to an end with the USA and Russia using a secret stock pile on ICBM. No major city has been left standing. The survivors of the war have returned to the cities looking for food and shelter form the nuclear winter that has started.
The surviving 4x4 are not able to get over the rumble of the cities, so the was built using what was at hand. The main body his form a earthmover with the cab and flatbed of a truck built on top. A generator is fitted to the back of the cab to power a crane with hook and the Getabout weapons which have been ripped of Tanks left over form the war.
The Getabout weapons are two hybrid 38 calber guns and two Sam Rocket launchers. The rocket launchers are used to clear rubble the Getabout can not get over or round.
The Getabout has been fitted with a plow to front to move rubble.
The Getabout can be run on petrol but seeing as there is a limited supply it normal run off cooking oil.

Humankind found themself new homeworld after the polution on earth reached deadly limits. Population is low and spread throughout the continents. Getting to high-tech is not easy and when supply ships are closing many families have to travel thousands of kilometers to the starports. For this many self bustled vehicles was created. This is an conversion of old school bus. Using AG plates, which are very cheap to get.

Here is my entry. This is an Armoured City Transport that runs shuttlebus services in the post-apocalyptic, war torn cities of the future. Manufacturers of public transport vehicles collaberated with the armed forces of the countries they served to make it feasable to create armoured transports to safely move people around in the cities which still need to run to help rebuild the world. The buses are all slightly different, this type runs the service in London. Its is equipped with 3 heavy machine guns, smoke launchers, flamers to protect the front cab (operated by the side gunners) and the headlights can be supercharged to give a burst of light which can temporarily blind attackers. The bus can carry 28 passengers and has a crew of 5.
Wow, this was close! I had nowhere near ebough time to texture it, i hope i can still enter it untextured (after all, isnt this compo about design?) if not at least i got a finished mesh to paly with :shiner:
Good Luck everyone :)

Well I was expecting to have at least an hour when I got in from work to post this, but it seems that British Rail had other ideas, but here I am anyway, 5 minutes to go:
The Hopper is a small legged craft introduced as city cabs when overcrowding and the morning commute lead to Traffic Jams that would litterally last weeks. Workers moving from home to sleep at work started to become a common sight, as were people passing away from old age during the commute.
The Hopper can litterally jump over any jam, and since it spends most of the time in the air many more can fit on to the crowded city roads than any car. They may get you there more shaken than stirred, but at least it's in the same season you started off in.
It has three modes of travel, a walking mode which is slow but easilly controlled allowing the Hopper to pick through side streets and park, a hop mode that is medium speed and gentle, not unlike the hopping of small birds (like a red red robin bob bob bobbin along) and a leap mode, where the Hopper will leap great distances over any obstruction like a mutated drunken Grasshopper.
Powered by a High Pressure Gas Turbine Compressor engine it leaps by using High pressure pneumatic rams concealed in the legs.

In the grim darkness of the future the "Goth" culture of old earth was declared outcast and criminal, they fled in a giant colony ship stolen from earths orbit using shuttles also stolen. Since the colony ship contained mankinds most advanced technologies and manufactories the new homeworld of the Goths, Gothica, was a superpower in a mere 5 centuries, less than 2 centuries later it outstripped all other human nations for size, power and technology.
In an attempt to meet transport demand a basic hull design scheme was put in place for transports. The Scythe contruction methodology.
With a sharp prow sweeping wings and a mostly hollow hull it's engines take 10% of it's mass.

Well, here goes, on hopes that it will be reviewed...
We write the year 2200. As predicted, the weather had a tremendous impact on our world: the seas have flooded large portions of land, and an increased time of solar flares did some crazy things tothe Earth's magnetic field. Mankind wasn't stopped by this events, however, and despite the water being everywhere, mankind flourished. Our eye has fallen upon Amsterdam, which, as capital of the Netherlands, always knew what to do with water. Now a days it's a modern Venice, with skyscrapers being partially submerged. Amsterdam, as the first of many cities, realised that a good public transportation system was needed to keep operating, even with water being everywhere. Magnetism was chosen to facilitate this need, and soon the Quadrupple Rail System -or QRail as it has become to known- was introduced all over the city, which tracks windle between skyscrapers, under the seafloor and even underground. Fast and reliable, this system ensures that the inhabitants of this worldcity get to their jobs comfortable...
