View Full Version : Challenge 003 - Winners!

I've said it before, but big thanks to everyone who has entered the challenge - the Sensei have been greatly impressed with both the quality of the work and the honourble conduct of the participants. Of course there can only be a few winners and picking them became a challenge in itself.
1st Place:
Jay-mo, who won more votes than anyone else and picks up the Gold medal for his superbly crafted and well designed Spider mount bio-mechanical vehicle. And lets face it, the fangs are sure to put off any would-be car theives so it's perfect for any lawless dystopian future.
Congratulations Jay-mo!

2nd Place:
Larsen Gained a solid second place with this highly aggressive and futuristic looking vehicle. Larsen's idea of a future city must surely be dominated by immense speed bumps, over which this buggy can speed with ease.
Congratulations Larsen!

3rd place:
It ended up becoming so close between our last picks a tied 3rd seemed appropriate.
Congratulations to both Tinukedaya and Tovette!
Tinukedaya's anti-gravity craft seems bodged together from many different sources and has those great, grungy looks - If Mad Max could float, he'd probably send his kids to school in something like this:

Meanwhile, Tovette's Beast of burden won us over and drew our attention over the remaining entrants with it's huge scale but domesticated and docile looks.

Finally we have the winner of most honourable, and really the most difficult of all to pick but for his kind comments and goodwill to all other entrants, Ozylot wins the green sensei medal for Most Honourable Member.
Congratulations Ozylot! And congratulations to all who took part, I hope you all had fun and i hope we see you all again in the next challenge.
Keep an eye on the header, we'll announce the next one soon!

Wow! I'm truly honoured. I thank the sensei for choosing me. I definitely agree that there was a lot of high quality of work out there. Congrats to the rest of the winners, and to everyone who participated:thumb: . Thanks for all the feedback everyone gave.

Whoa! Never though I'll make it to actually placing myself within all those superb entries. *bows deeply* Thank you.
Those challenges are great. I always learn some new things and it actually force me to finnish the projects... There is only one thing I consider finnished, from all I have done... that was the crate contest some time ago... And this is "almost" finnished as well. The deadline somehow force me to keep concentration on the one thing... otherwise i jump from one model to another.
Congrats to all the winners and looking forward to next one... hope I'll be able to participate.

Congrats to all the winners!!! This was a really fun challenge, and I think the two week timeframe was the perfect amount of time for the challenge. They are a great way to practice and hopefully learn a bit too! Looking forward to the next challenge!!!

Congratulations to the winners ! Lots of cool work !
I'm suprised nobody at all came up with a teleport system as the ideal mode of future transport in a high tech city.
cirus5555
25th Oct 2006, 14:31
Because I think they were looking for an original idea:p

Well, I did bounce around a concept about trained monkeys with teleport beacons strapped on to them, but someone told me it was a bad idea. :(

infact, you had nearly 3 weeks to get your entry in by the 13th and after that you only had to wait a week and half for the results.

Conratulations to all winners and the participants. I´m sure you know by now why these challenges are so much fun.
@Staff: Are there any plans for a challenge that gives our 2D community a chance as well? We 3D guys got 2 challenges (if you count the rounds as seperate ones, even 3) and it would only be fair to let them experience the fun as well. Maybe even a group challenge some day in the future as well (to increase the team spirit in our community)?

@lennier1, this was something of an 'open' challenge(which worked imo), but I'd also like to see some 2D only challenges come up.

@chrono: Thanks for clearing that up. Didn´t have much time for following the progress in the last couple of weeks due to the new job.

I was silently rooting for Tovette's beast - it reminded me of a project of my own from earlier this year - A "Dragon-of-Burden" for the Poser community at DAZ, for their DragonWorld theme; and I also built an Accessory Pack (yoke, carts, saddle, bench-seat), so that the beastie was actually useful!
Here's one of my promos...
Obviously, I couldn't enter it into the contest, since it was done prior to the challenge - but also obviously, I felt an affinity for Tovette's project!
Congrats to all the winners!

I believe that C&C should be given/offered on all of the entries when the results are shown. This will bring to the table the reasoning behind having the Sensei Challenge, beyond the silly little icon. Skill improvement through C&C by experienced knownledgable people.
