Animation Mentor : Review and the Future
Posted 04-17-2008 at 09:43 PM by Berticus
For the last three months I have been attending Animation Mentor. I have to say I have learned more in that time than at any time previously in my life. Honestly. The people are straight forward about what they teach and how they teach it.
The first term was about the twelve basic principles of animation. So I kind of straggled my way through doing the minimum. It dawned on me at the beginning of this term that I was actually studying to be a professional (there's a difference between knowing and knowing) and that I'd better hunker down and focus.
Needless to say I've been doing just that. I actually dropped college so I could focus on animation.
One of the reasons I'm even able to do that is because I can actually focus on animating for extended periods of time. I've never really been able to do that before with anything else. I just could never pay attention long enough to finish things. But I can and am with AM. It's very nice to settle in at my computer and focus on animation.
I've divided my attention, though, against two fronts. Not only am I learning animation but I have taken up learning the ins and outs of Blender. We'll see how that settles out.
I will continue with weekly updates here on AM.
