WGA - Virtual Fan Picket
EDIT: UPDATE - I was just thinking about the fact that many of the members of this board are in the UK or outside the US, and therefore wondering do we do this on local time or US time. I think we should go by EST (New York) which is where the ownership of many of the networks reside.
On Friday Nov. 15 at 12:01 EST Change your Avatar the one of the following:

And leave it in place for the next 24 hours (or longer if you wish)
I wish I could find signs for Trek, Stargate, etc... If you want to photoshop the Battlestar sign with your favorite show, do so.

For those who aren't following the WGA strike closely, Friday November 16 is turning into a fandom day of support for the WGA writers. Fans who are looking to support writers (and in some cases save their favorite shows) plan to picket with writers at strike lines.
Roughly 300 BSG fans plan to join writers from that show. Fans of CSI are joining their writers. Things are coming together quickly, but a number of shows plan to raise some hell on Friday.
Hollywoodinterupted and fans4writers.com are organizing a virtual picket line on myspace, facebook, and other sites. They are encouraging fans to change their avatars to the WGA strike logo. I would like to suggest that we participate in this show of support, but that we do so right here on SFM.
I SUGGEST THAT FOR ONE DAY, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16, EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTS THE WRITERS CHANGE THEIR AVATARS TO ONE OF THESE:

The SciFi channel has taken an interest in this site. They promote their shows here. They've had SFM come on site for the press tour. We are on their radar. Let's say something to them.

| | I cannot see the avatar. Is it the one you have? The "I Support the (in black) Writers Guild of America (in red) Strike (in black). If that is it I plan on changing. Great idea. |
