Storytracer "The next step"

Posted 12-17-2007 at 02:05 PM by The_Caveman
Me again

Was in Norway for a week because of work but back now and found some time to do some more work on Storytracer.

Last time I talked about the templates. This is working now and it would mean that remote working would be possible. Unfortunatly it will depend a little on ur internet connection for the file uploads and downloads but can't do much about that.

So well that is working and taking some advice I got from a couple of members I will try and integrate some sort of easy to use feature to change the SQL, of course you can retouch the templates urselfs but well if ur not to much into programming, SQL coding etc it would be easier with a tool doing that for you.

So the next step is "remote login" Trying to use the users online database (for a forum for example) and use that exact same table to do your logins in storytracer. Not sure if I'll have the time to do the authorisations level before the beta release and first release but it is somewhere planned as well.

Another part is finishing all the icons for the software. I've gathered tons and tons and did some cleaning last week to only keep those for which I have the rights.

and final part in this step generate a project file that you should send to the members of a team so they can launch the project from inside storytracer.

That is what is on the menu for the coming 4 days . I'll try and upload some new icons when I'm home from work

Cheers
Jozef

Hi Jozef,

I'm getting really excited about this app, sounds like it's getting better and better all the time.

How do you intend to integrate the login using the users 'current' database? as in how are you going to accomodate all the different types of forums and CMS software out there? If it's a matter of manually collecting table names, I'd be happy to help you out with that, I have a fair few CMS' installed on my homeserver for testing purposes. Gimme a shout and I'll come up with a list

Hi paul,

Normally I'll be using a php file again to do the login. So it will be using sql and the table name so if you would have some time to digg up the different table names and the password encryption would be great and very usefull. I'll go through a couple as well. This way I could make some profiles you select for known forums and all

Thanks already for the help

Cheers
