I think I liked where it was going in the first version a bit better... I'm not sure all the piping is fitting in as well here. I think it's making the chair seem too 'ordinary' like something you'd see in the backyard. I really like the concept but maybe try to push the concept that the main 'tiles' will construct the chair, rather than the tubing? What if the 'tiles' were divided into three sections, in addition to all the radial copies? then you'd have different sizes to work with when you build each of the different chairs? or what if the 'tiles' had curved bottoms (the underside) then you'd be able to put them in different shapes due to the curves? Please don't take the crits the wrong way... if you want me to shut up at any point just let me know and I will!

Very good ideas there Jeff... Gonna have to consider that. Im not all that amazed with how the pipes turned out either.

Looks good Ozylot. I liked the matrix stlye AI controled cables you had; however your original concept proof is great at well. Two questions. How did you pull the effect off and is there going to be some sort of array under the segments or perhaps where they lift off the floor?

The effect is kerkythea's equivalent to a volumetric material. And yes, I would like to have some emitters under the segments, however I have problems with the renderer when there is multiple beams. | |

Maybe having a different style of force beam would look intersting. Not such a generic blue volumetric light one but maybe one that has no visible light but just distorts the view a bit (like heat haze)
