Challenge #6 - psycho - The Chair

i join as well, although i don't think i can finish it in time (and i don't know if my pc can handle it, because i have only 512 mb ram atm )

i'll try some giger-style design with a humanoid alien integrated into some kind of chair...

Nice idea, if you think you can't finish it, try to concentrate on the chair itself. If you have enough time, you can still build the alien! If painted nicely a giger style chair could really be awesome!

Are you from Germnay/Austria? I hate the ö and ä keys sometimes so much that I want to buy an english keyboard

Oh don't get yourself an english keyboard, you'll hate it. Z and Y switched freaks me out and all the punktuation marks are different too. I'm used to using 10 fingers on my german one.

That is a seriously cool concept! Lots of work too for a two weeks contest but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you make it. And if not hopefully you'll continue this after the challenge. Have you thought about "sinking in" the humanoid into the chair? So that for example his upper legs are not visible anymore, the chair grew over them. That might look cool too.

You ain't seen nothing yet

This will be totally cool no matter if you finish it in time for the challenge or not! Can't wait to see what kind of tubes and cables and stuff you come up with

This is way cool . . . a bit frightening, but a good start . .

Very nice, looks very comfortable, and inviting

Yes, limited memory is a little bit of a challenge, but maybe you're just going to have to optimise as you go.

Looking very nice stuff so far. I can imagine wires coming out of his midbrain area (where you have already put in cavities, so I suspect it's meant too).

This could be extremely cool, if you don't melt your PC doing it!

The only crit I would give is that you could maybe resolve the chair it's self a little more, perhaps through some sketching, as that's the onus of the competition: While comfort's probably irrelevant for a plugged in drone, some of the details could be intriguing.. Perhaps have a spinal tap feed system/ neural interface down the spine, if it serves as a full life support system as well as controll interface? Also it strikes me that maybe the 'user' would be inside some sort of protective canopy, simply because he's utterly defenceless & exposed to both physical and biological threats: Perhaps it could be part of the design?

Visit my Endless Pluto Station project, I'm still working on it, honest!
