Thanks for the comments guys.

Well, I finally had a little time to start modelling. This is the head piece to the chair. I figured this would be the hardest part. I've cloned the geometry to use for the armrests later. I also included the control mesh... UGLY.

pretty friggin' cool looking!

is this in max? very nice organic modeling so far.... and it's always nice to see the control cage for subdivision models too.

this would be a great design to get into zbrush when you're done modeling too... looking forward to more updates when you have them.

^Thanks man. I would love to get my hands on z-brush or mudbox. I plan on downloading the demo at some point. My tax refund went to patio furniture, man that crap is expensive. I'll have to start putting a little somthin somwthin away for awhile if I want to buy one of those progs. Sometimes I really wish I was still single.

That's a very elaborate toilet

Looking cool, it reminds me of the human/alien hybrid whatsitsface from Alien IV. it's going to be pretty tough to get all of the components made up, organic modelling can be slow, but it looks like a good start!

Can I see *Shock* Tri's in that controll mesh?!

Visit my Endless Pluto Station project, I'm still working on it, honest!

There is definitely a strong Giger influence here. I think there all quads, some of the faces might be bent. Yes, organic modelling is still going slow for me, but I'm getting better. These competitons are great in improving my speed, it's kind of like a project deadline. What i really need is a couple of straihgt hours modelling, without the distractions of my family.

I got a little farther. I'm going to be deviating from my sketch a little. I'm going to get rid of a lot of the bulk, and have the parts of the chair be supported by some kind of spine. This weekend I have a wedding to go to. Chances are I won't finish it in time. The picard model isn't going to stay, he's just there so I can place the peices of the chair, I just thought it looked kinda a cool.

I almost feel like that chair would be looking at someone. Creepy, but cool!
