Challenge # 6 - Jedilaw - Consuming Chair

Hello all,

The basic idea for this design is a command chair that is both intimidating to people who aren't sitting in the chair and also suggestive that the person in the chair is being "consumed", hence the chair back being evocative (hopefully) of the roof of a mouth, with the seat being somewhat like a tongue.

Kind of a dime-store metaphor for the all-consuming job, I suppose.

24+ views and no replies, eh? Hmmm, guess I should stick to Star Destroyers and leave the furniture design to someone else...

but... i like have a (few?) organic-Concepts here as well. Even if i don't know how to get a "consuming"-Look into it. Maybe this is clearer wenn wie see a first render ?!

Any purpose/story of that chair or just fun ?

Where are you going to put the conning towers and all the pipes though!!!

...but really...

This is another really nice design! I really like the organic nature of it, too, and could really benefit from some ZBrush or Mudbox detail work after the main modeling is done. This reminds me of something you'd see Conan sitting in or an alien insect race. Where the claws of the chair are from the enemy that it has slain...

That's okay, I've had 130+ views on mine and only three people commented, so don't feel left out.

I like your design, especially the intimidation factor.

Really organic design for sure. It will be interesting to see the 3d counterpart.

Nah, just turn on NURMS and all of your greebles become organic.

And very, very high poly.

Don't sweat it man... I had to wait like 8 hours before anyone commented on my design... I like the idea, you have defenatly given it some thought!

Now stop wining and get to modeling...

Remember to recreate the greebles correctly
