Challenge #6 -Biotech - organochair

The concept behind this is that its from an organic ship, and the chair is an extrusion of that living ship that the pilot interacts with for long periods of time.

The organochair can both feed the pilot, and take away his waste products, and the neural interface gives instant control of the ship direct from the pilots brain.

Sort of going for a gieger/Lexx look for this chair.

Textures temporary.

ohhh... another organic looking chair! I like it!

A little late start but it's already looking really nice!!!

This one would look really cool if you could have some type of slimy texture all over it!

Nice! I love that some many people are taking the organic approach. I think the design of the chair is great. Only suggestion would be to make the tendrils on the bottom longer and curvier.

Ok, I know I modelled and textured this myself, but its even creeping me out now.

I am using the translucent shader for the first time, and getting good results from it, check out how the light passes through the edge of the arm of the chair in the first picture.

Thanks, not sure if a pilot and background are allowed, but this kind of gives the idea of how and where the organochair would be used.

Caution thumbnail contains simulated nudity.

You can add a background and a pilot but you're picture will be judged on the chair itself.

I think it would look quite cool if those tentacles where more like fingers including fingernails

So I guess its in my best interests for the chair to be empty to provide the best look at it.

I like the idea of the fingernails, but I think it would make the chair a bit too human looking.

what if the chair was holding the occupant. Like with some tentacles on the armrests growing over the person.

Its looking great!
