Challenge #7 – jmsprovan – (Not Named Yet)

My Submission for this challenge: the Not Named Yet - near future torture rack

The features are outlined on the concept image (i'm not a very good artist so bear with me)

I'd imagine it could be placed in a ships's brig or a detention centre (or similar)

I also have some ideas for tools to torture with, can i include them?

Critique is welcomed

i may start modelling the main device tomorrow

i'm thinking of what it could be made of, like a big iron thing with rivets and rust or a very clean modern white metal or such. Thoughts please

i like the idea of a rusty/dirty device but i think a very formfitting sterile surface would be better. almost like an autopsy table of sorts.

blender

I've began to model the bottom half, its really just the rough shape now and i'll be adding detail soon. I've also had the idea that the top and bottom sections can rotate = stretching limbs and such - pretty brutal

more to come!

There's quite a lot of segmentation going on but depending on how close with the camera you get to that part in your final image it might not be a big problem.

i said basic shape so i will be getting rid of most of that. I'm usually a low-poly modeler so this is giving me a change

more updates to come later tonight

an update:

I've added more points to the Semi-Circle, hopefully it will make it appear nicer
I've added some bits and pieces to it, i will make up a diagram later detailing everything.

This challenge hasn't had as many entries as the other's have, which is odd.

I've modelled the top section and the hydraulic arm which rotates and lifts the device.

Any comments would be welcome

cool details. The lettering helps a lot to make it more real looking (as letters are something really "real" )
