Cinema4d Challenge #7 – enigmaxs – The 'NEV-R-SLEEP' torture seat

The NEV-R-SLEEP, sanity deprivation, torture seat is based around the concept of pumping the subject full of stimulants and will also be capable of showing endless images or videos to damage their sanity. You'll have to excuse the crudeness of the concept sketches (Sketching is not my strongpoint as you'll see, :P)...

I just love waste removal tubes

There actually was something as a never-sleep torture device in medieval spain. It didn't have eye restrainers though. It was a kind of belt that you wore around your belly/chest area with metal spikes on it. The spikes were adjusted so they just barely touched the skin when the person sat upright. But once he or she fell asleep and bent over the spikes pierced the skin and poked into the flesh which kept people awake. Crude stuff. Of course that has nothing to do with your quite promising looking chair - just thought I might as well show off with my torture knowledge

Not much to critique yet - only to me the part where the persons ass would sit looks a bit to long. Maybe scale that down a bit. The chest restrainer looks a bit too small in comaprison. Maybe try and sit one of standard-rig guys in that chair. There are some available online. For example a rig named LowMax is quite good when it comes to proportions. It's available for free download. A quick Google search should give you the link.

Unfortunately, due to my son being on his Half-Term holidays, several (very drink intensive) Halloween parties, a recent back injury and...most importantly...the release of Football Manager 2008, I've been majorly distracted from this challenge. So in an effort to catch up I've been working for the past few hours straight to get back on track. Here's the latest update:

I plan on finishing this up in the next few hours by adding the 'Stimulant Injector Tubes' and a few various details.

As you can probably tell, I used a model from Poser to give me the rough dimensions I need. This is the first time I've ever imported a figure from Poser into C4D it worked better than I'd hoped...

Latest update:

Added a few details and the tubing. I think this is as far as I can go and I won't have the time to texture the model now unfortunately.
