Howard that was epic!

It really had the 2001 Space Odyssey space opera vibe.

A few questions...

How long did this take you to render out?

How much of the effects were done in post?

What technique did you use for the starfield effect?

Thank whatever that I'm not the only one!!
I get frame stutter pretty much every second when I watch. I've downloaded three times and get the same stutter (as I did with each of your previous uploads).

It might be my PC ... but my vid card is solid, I've got plenty o' ram and up to date drivers across the board.

Either way the vid is still spectacular. Brings my Howard Day collection of videos to four now (six if I include the previous versions).

Woooow, really nice.....and spectacular . But for some reason i cant hear any sound, i'm using the latest k-lite codec....but it runs smooth...

One question, how did you do those blinking lights? Did you manually animate them?

It's fun being me! Is it fun being you?

Definitely spectacular! I would love to be able to do this even half as good as you have. Totally blown away.

as far as crits go:
I didn't notice the gas stuff.
Was some stuttering but it went away when I viewed it the 2nd time.
Only thing I didn't like, was all the blinking lights, I found them very distracting and some didn't even seem to be coming from the ship at all.

Still, its brilliant work though.

Superb job Howard

I had stuttering/freezing too! I went back a couple of seconds and it played further... Appears to be some sorta codec thing!

So are we seeing the teaser for all new mars series here?!

Very nice job!! What I like it very much, is that great space adventure feel. On technical note, i had no problems with shuttering but i cannot hear the sound. I´m taking it home to watch it on my home comp, maybe it will work there.
One question, in one of the preview movies with folding solar panels i saw cool reflection effect. Can you please tell me how did you achieved that?

that was absolutely superb!
I also had the stuttering problem, but it was an absolutely gorgeous short
nicely done

one thing that was bugging me was I had no idea what all the hoses connected to
were they connected to a space station?

Gotta be, but it must be HUGE!!! I quite enjoyed the inference, it enhanced the idea that the ship was going all on it's own and breaking it's last tenuous ties with Earth. Nicely symbolic I think.

Still stunned by that engine effect - just awesome!!!!!
