I'm getting alot of inspiration watching Advent Children on the costume design. I'm looking for a similar feel for Aeryn's "Brother" that Sephiroth and characters like him have. But I don't want to get too close, to the point people say "they're ripping off FF7" -- and I hate the metal shoulder plates. Anyway, here's some design ideas for Aleric's costume, AKA the "Male" uniform. The third one is something I'm thinking for something Aeryn might wear when she's in the "real" world.

I'm not looking for exact, just something that takes inspiration from things like this. More later, I'm off to find more pics....

Cheers,
Nick

AHA! PROGRESS! I've named the Sabre Children!

S0001-P PROTOTYPE (MALE): Aleric, Gothic name meaning "all-powerful" or "ruler of all"
S0002-P PROTOTYPE (FEMALE): Aeryn, Irish name meaning "peace"
S0003 PRODUCTION TEST (MALE): Deimos, Greek name meaning "fear" or "terror"
S0004 PRODUCTION TEST (FEMALE): Dinah, Hebrew name for "Judgement"
S0005 PRODUCTION TEST (MALE): Heyden, German name for "Heathen"

The "Children's" names do not indicate their genetic origins. They are merely an effort to assist confusion of a target in the event of the Sabre's capture.

Cheers,
Nick

I think the unifroms should be more military based combined with martial arts uniforms, to enable it's wearer maximum comfort. I know I said 'yes' to design the costumes but I'm not that good with costumes, plus Horizon that's taking up a lot of time. But I'll have an easy day tomorow, I'll see what I can do...

Project Saber . . . maybe they should use sabers instead of katanas
just kidding

I like this idea

OK I chose a style that is completely non American. Nick you said the agency that ran them wanted them to appear to have no allegiance. This uniform is lacking in all identifying factors except for rank on the collar and the personalized unit patch on the shoulder. I envision them wearing twin katanas and that being their preferred weapon of choice. They could be slung over the back or hung off of the sword belt shown. When they are only carrying a side-arm the shoulder strap can be removed.

I plan on creating an over coat that would be used the hide their weapons for such situations as transit of point A to B and or surprise attacks.

The jacket cloth should be light and flexible, allowing freedom on movement.

Nick this is a lot better.

If I read this right you have the surprise ending at the begging. I would lose this as your audience will already know about it when the time came to revile it. Have the opening of the story set a few hours after it.

Another thing you could do is open the story just before the surprise, just before it is reviled stop. Either go, forward to after the end of the story and have Aeryn tell the events to someone. (I don’t like this idea to much.)

You could do what they did in MI:III, have the big final but just before anything is reviled. Jump back to the a few days before Aeryn is captured. Don’t do the falsh back to how she was created just yet.
Have her go out to get the brothers and sisters, she talks to them. While she decides what to do, then put in the nightmares.

Hope this helps. I’ll rework what you have posted into the third idea and post it up for you if you want?

ALL GOOD THINGS, ARE WHAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND!

Call them collectively the Sabern. Pronounced Say-Burn but with the stress on say.

Just a thought. This looks like it'll turn out to be loads of fun!
