Marvel Universe Online

Just saw the teaser trailer about this and got goose bumps, that's right goose bumps!
Marvel have signed a massive deal with Microsoft Game Studios and the company that made City of Heroes! They are creating a masive online game, for Xbox 360 and PC, that's set in the Marvel Universe! It's set now and will be influnced and updated with the comics that are running! It's including Marvels 60 year history so there are around 5000 characters for you to choose who to play as, plus the ability to create your own!
Just though somebody here might be intrested...

yipppppy!

this has been in the works for some time, basically Cryptic studious (CoH/CoV) wants to fix things that are bad with City of Heroes (such as repetative gameplay and cloned "open door" missions with little actual role play or story telling,) first news I ever heard of microscum being involved though.

My fears exactly. Altough I don't know why I'm worried if I'm never going to play it.

The Battlestar Galactica was never stripped of its armor.

too bad they went with the CoX devs, sure they have experience withmakmign comic MMO, but that's hardly the most important, their animation team is beyond hopeless. but hopefully with MS backign they'll be able to pay some real animators so your character doesn't look like a weightless robot running around though.

The whole everyone beign iron man or wolverine thign though, yeah that's a possibility, but I think the majority will eventually settle down with their own hero. and the kids who just want to play their favorite super hero will go back to playing WoW and whining about how everyone else can't play their class on the battlegrounds....

As for MS, that's probably the best thing that ever happened to this game, sure it'll probably be vista only, which doesn't really matter as I have both Vista and a 360 and it's not like I'd ever go back to XP after using vista. but more improtantly, MS is the absolute best company in regards to taking care of their game studios. They dump cash on them while giving them more freedom than any other distributor/owner out there. And it's paying off with the quality of the games produced by their teams. Shadowrun for example, sure they buthcered thebackground story and the Trolls don't look quite like theiy should, but thats still one awesome game, I'll just pretend it's a different universe similar to the real shadowrun. (besides with MS only owning the rights to digital Fasa games, and Fasa going under and selling all their rights to Wizkids I'm sure the whole who has the rights to what thing is a nightmare there right now)

They are limiting it to one of each character per server so there will be no duplicates of any of the characters during the game, it's basically first come first serve when choosing a character!
