Downloads: 0 Uploads: 0 | Need a game suggestion - what should I play OK, here's my situation. I own a rather descent Laptop (AMD Turion 1,6Ghz DualCore, 1Gb Ram, ATI Radeon Express 1150 256Mb). It is basically my work computer, except of HalfLife2 I didn't play any serious games for 6 years or so. Now lateley I find myself with some spare time that I need to waste so I thought maybe I could give games another shot ![]() But I don't really know what the cool games right now are. I enjoy first-person shooter-adventure mixtures. I don't like stuff that is running around, shooting on everything that moves. What I really enjoyed was Project IGI (that was back in the good old days). A first person tactical game where you had to hide and make sure security guards didn't notice you and be more of a stealth assassin than a rambo. Is there a fairly recent game (doesn't have to be brand new) along those lines? First person, tactics, sort of realistic (you can not take 5 hits of a rocket launcher till you die but start limping on the first hit of a pistol and die imediately when someone shoots you in your head), not rambo? Having a save option would be a huge plus so I can quit playing whenever a client calls me and I need to go back to work. And of course it would be great if it ran smoothly on my not-really-high-tech-gaming notebook. I'd really appreciate your help here ![]() Edit: Just found out that in 2003 Project IGI 2 was released. Is that any good? |

You still have to kill a lot, but if you don't happen to have 20kg of medpacks with you, you will need to stay covered. There are also a few mutants who tend to kill you pretty fast when you're not looking. Weapons and armor degrade over time, and jam more frequently. The great thing about the game is, you can literally wipe out the complete population of the Zone, with the exception of a few characters who aren't reachable with weapons (usually the annoying characters), and still be able to continue the stroyline (You can even retain an "excellent" reputation! )! Any other game I've played punished me for going on a killing spree...erm, back to topic...My system consists of a Sempron 2800+ (2GHz)( ), 1Gig of Ram, and a 256MB 6800GT, and I'm able to run it between medium and maximum. I don't know how CPU heavy the game is, but I'd figure that it'd run pretty decent on your laptop. Make sure to check out tweakguides.com though for optimal performance, should you get the game. |

Has that gone out of fashion? I mean shelling out a not exactly low amount of money for a game I never tried is not exactly what I'd want to do. Or maybe I was just too dumb to find them ![]() |

On the other hand Stalker is a great game, lots of fun, great gameplay. But it has its problems, a few bugs, sometimes lousy AI and what bothered me the most: Spawining enemies from nowhere. What you asked for screams STALKER but is kinda a dual thing, either you love it or you hate it so I wouldn't recommend you to buy it unless you try it first. Other game you could try is ARMA: Armed Assault (I don't know if it has been released in europe) I have a few friends who tired it and said it was excelent. |
