Has anyone else noticed Bungie's unique approach to hyping up their game? Last time around it was ilovebees.com, but this time they are going even farther. From putting cryptic IP addresses in books to creating a UFO society, they really want people to know about Halo 3...without actually telling them. It's really very interesting to watch it unfold.

Check out The Society of the Ancients website to see their fake group, and you can even see them with signs and megaphones in Times Square, shouting to people about intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. What gives them away is their hot issue of, "Look at this symbol recently found on a rock in Africa." The symbol is the same forerunner image that keeps popping up places around Bungie and in some strange e-mails I have gotten from Xbox Live.

If anyone else has stuff to add that they have seen, please do

Well, just take a look at the whole Marathon gestalt phenomenom. This is the kind of thing that defines Bungie, precisely.

Squee. Looks like they upgraded textures and polycounts a smidge, seriously improved faces, and a lot more integration between environment, characters, vehicles, etc.
