the memory management is so poor it brought my supercomputer to its knees, a 9800GTX having to run a game at 800x600 in this day and age would you believe it

| oh yeah mine runs super smooth alright, every DX10 setting on full at 1280x1024 with 8x super aa, however after 5 - 10 minutes when new things are loading in but nothing else is unloading it slows to a crawl and I'll have to save, exit and re-enter the game to get it running super smooth again it's the memory management issues in DX10, so you'll not have any problems with that, I think it's why many DX10 users choose to run it in DX9 and change the configs to unlock the "DX10 features" (because despite the name they'll all run in DX9 mode) cinematically this should be the best looking game I've ever played, but because of these issues it's not, and it's disappointing that a game designed for vista and DX10 actually runs like crap on it compared to DX9, and all the so called DX10 features were a bit of a scam trying to get unsuspecting users to upgrade to DX10 hardware and OS when it really isn't needed even worse is they've already ended support for crysis, because they're concentrating too hard on warhead apparently, I hope they'll still try and sort out the problems crysis had though otherwise I won't be playing any more of these games |

| Administrator | I've certainly not had the problems you describe, Dave. Thank god. That sounds incredibly frustrating. I agree that Warhead looks disappointingly similar to the original game. I'll still play it though. The voice acting etc was good quality and as has been mentioned, the game looks fantastic. Love the non-linear nature of the combat. Very cool stuff... I've also never encountered the issues with falling objects insta-killing you either. Bizarre stuff... |

| I've heard about that Vista problem, and that many eventually preferred to run in DX9 mode (on vista). I myself only have XP (32bit), and have to use stuff like the "Natural mod" on crymod.com for the better graphics. ![]() Either way I'm definately getting Warhead, if only for seeing the plot/story from Psycho. He is a great character IMO. That's saying a lot, because before I got Crysis, the last two FPS games I bought were Command & Conquer: Renegade and Aliens vs. Predator 1 - (Yes, back when they were released, not recent old games purchased )I'm not at all a "general FPS" fan - but I love the different stuff like in AvP. Crysis was like reliving the predator's gameplay. (I love the suit functions!) It also kinda gave me an idea what "StarCraft:Ghost" would feel like. |

| SFM Guru | If anyone wants enhanced graphics but with a an even better framerate than the stock crysis than i suggest you check out this link. inCrysis Crysis Forums / C.U.D.A.A.T.S [CCC] v2.21 [+PICS & Benchmarks] Plus it enables DX10 effects in DX9 mode. |

I'm sticking to the "Natural mod" ( Natrual Mod - Screenshots included on page ) which ALSO enables the DX10 effects that can be done in DX9.
