| SFM Oracle | Homeworld 2 probelms So i ordered a copy of Homeworld 2 from amazon the other day, seeing as its going to become really hard to get soon and i got it within 3 days(not bad it said 5). I pop it in it takes forever for the autoplay function to start up(first bad sign). It installed fine and i downloaded and installed the v1.01 patch without a problem. I restart my computer type in my logon password and nothing. All it does is say "loading settings". It stays there for 30 minutes. So i boot in safe mode and uninstall it and restart normally. Same thing happens. So i resort to a system restore which worked fine until I tried to delete all the old HW2 files. The same hold up occurred. so i repeated the system restore and here i am now with no functioning homeworld 2 and a nasty problem. Does anyone know whats going on? Running Win XP pro |

| Did you check the HW2 forums?? |
| 2d art is treated as a bastard child in 3D forums. There are cultures on this planet that are just plain not ready for advanced technologies like explosives and automatic guns | |

| Administrator | That sounds pretty nasty. So you can't get into windows any more? A couple of things to try - Create a new user profile and try logging in with this (you should be able to do that via safe mode) Try running a check disk...From the command prompt, type Chkdsk c: /f /r /x (i believe). See if it turns up any corrupt files etc. If neither of those work, you can do a repair install of Windows without loosing any data. Just boot of your XP Pro cd and select the "Repair" option. |

| Administrator | Hard to help with so little info to go on...If you can re-run it and let me know what the exact error is I could give you some suggestions... I'd go on to my other suggestion then and do a repair install of XP...Just boot off your Windows CD and follow the prompts. |
