| Administrator | Well, I always use Asus motherboards and their onboard sound never let me down. The only thing they don't do properly is recording, but that's ok by me. |

| Administrator | Ok, just finished Crysis. Although not as good as CoD4, and this is mainly because Crysis took about half a game to get the story engaged and interesting, while CoD4 did this in the first half hour, the game is very good. Once you get past the initial data gathering part of the game and start to actually hunt the Korean General to liberate the hostage, the game really picks up a good pace and gets you into some steady action all through to the end. And I liked that they didn't completely end the storyline leaving some room for an expansion or sequel. Just hope they don't make the sequel into a new graphics engine, or we'll have to buy new PCs to play it ![]() As for the graphics, the game is beautiful and while I wasn't able to play it all on high settings (I kept a few on medium and some on high), it still looked pretty damn good while playing on 1280x1024. I do think CoD4 came pretty close on graphics wise without being so heavy on the computer though... |

| This time you see | [quote-Darkone]I getting mass effect too, but the romur is it's going to be OS specific "VISTA" 64 bit![/quote] Nah, that won't be the case- as much as Microsoft would undoubtedly love to be in that position (naturally), I can't think of any retail machines- laptop or desktop- that come with Windows Vista 64 bit as standard, without requiring either a POP-upgrade, or the Anytime disk. |

| Administrator | X3: Reunion still amazes me with the graphics. And it would run like silk on your new card, Diogo. ![]() You pretty much nailed all the really good games out there...If you haven't tried it before, I might suggest STALKER. The graphics aren't the highest in the world but it oozes atmosphere. Everyone talks about the Chernobyl level in COD4 looking eerie and great...Stalker leaves it for dead. One of those games where you end up really counting your ammo and making sure you ration your better weapons as they will wear out and run out of ammo if you're not careful...The prequel comes out in a few months - Clear Skies I think it's called. I'll be looking forward to that... Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas 1 (and I think 2 is out on PC now?) are also pretty damn cool. World in Conflict looks phenomenal. While the singleplayer campaign is excellent, this game really shines as a multiplayer. I played it for months before Team Fortress 2 came along and took all my time. Watching multiple artillery strikes, napalm and cluster bombs and a nuke or two going off at the same time over a battlefield is just awesome |

| Administrator | Hmmm...Reading the reviews for both STALKER and Ghost Recon, I don't think it's really my cup of tea. I hate having to deal with teams in the case of Ghost Recon, and I don't like shooters that have zombies running around in present day. In fact that put me off completely of playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein back in the day. Rainbow Six Vegas on the other hand sounds more interesting so I'll definitely take a look. You did remind me that I haven't finished Splinter Cell Chaos Theory yet though...and still have to play Double Agent. Going to check back on those. X3: Reunion is a game that I have been meaning to play for a long time but never got the chance...Maybe now I will be able to, heh I also installed FarCry again yesterday just out of curiosity...damn, the graphics actually look bad (!) when compared to Crysis and CoD4.I just got World in Conflict and it's pretty interesting so far. The drop zone system is a very nice change of pace from the usual "build a base" game play most RTS provide. |

| Administrator | Indeed. WIC multiplayer is pretty well ground breaking - I'm not aware of any other RTS that lets you drop into a match at any point, let alone be able to have a fighting chance if you do. It's an RTS that plays with the pace of an FPS and yet is an extremely tactical game. Very cool. I'd highly recommend getting online for a match or two when you get the chance... |
