| Administrator | Bought new GFX card, need games to play Well, I'm here sitting with my brand new GeForce 9600GT and I need recent games to play It's really amazing what this card can do...much better than I had expected to be honest. Anyway, what do you guys suggest? I am playing Crysis right now and just finished Call of Duty 4 (Blazing awesome game!). Here's a list I've come up:- Gears of War - Unreal Tournament 2007 - World in Conflict - Assasin's Creed Anything else interesting out there? I'm really looking for good games that will make good use of the 9600GT. |

I enjoyed Crysis' Editor, and the pretty graphics. There'll be another X3 - Terran Conflict. I don't know when it's coming out though... |

![]() Crysis is not as good as CoD4. I'm really just playing for the eye-candy, cause it just feels like Farcry with better graphics. The storyline is very cheap and the missions are the same over and over again...go to point A, kill a bunch of dudes, disable whatever/find whoever. Go to point B, kill a bunch of dudes, disable whatever/find whoever and so on...you get the idea. Plus the distances now are a lot bigger, so it gets a bit tiresome running around in the island...if at least they gave you a fast car to cover the distances...but no, the fastest truck does 30 mph. Call of Duty 4 was incredible though. From fast adrenaline pumping action to some really eerie environments when you are in Chernobyl and even some emotional moments in the middle of the game. The ending was really fantastic too. I actually thought I had screwed up there at one point. And about Assassin's Creed, I've heard that it can get a bit tiresome, but I'm willing to give it a try cause the premise of the game is one that I really like. Half-Life is still a game that I can't quite get into for some reason...that and the fact that whenever I try to install a friend's copy to see how it is compared to HL1, it never works out with that steam crap, so I guess I'll just pass for now. I think I'll give World in Conflict a try next just to have a good change of pace from the shooters. A friend also lent me Sins of a Solar Empire...been playing it for a couple of days and it is really good...a Trek mod would really fit into it.

I've never had the need for a sound card, onboard sound has served me well

| Administrator | Darkine: Where did you get that rumor from? Chris Priestly from Bioware officially stated on their forums that the game will run in XP and Vista: Mass Effect Community - Mass Effect for PC System Specs, SecuROM and FAQ And yeah, onboard sound does the trick for me too...never bothered with expansion sound cards. IRML: Yeah, I've heard of it, but I haven't really given it much thought...when I finish the current games I'll see about maybe getting it. |
