You wouldn't even need the Flood(a rather unpredictable weapon), it's simple it's quick and efficient. On the other hand if the Flood is your primary weapon, why even bother with the purge all life Rings? Just cut the little bastards loose then time jump in after they killed everything and receded. Just seems like the Forerunners introduced a lot of loose variables, inefficiency and unpredictability if that is how the system was supposed to work.

well the flood was basically made to create chaos so they forerunners could activate the halos.. and the reason the chief is the 'reclaimer' is because one forerunner found out what was happening and he made it to where only a human could activate the installations.. just read the storyline i posted.. it tell you eveything!! and i've just received news that it's prolly fake.. oh well it still sounds cool.. lol

I heard about this a while ago, bungie leaked one of about 12 possible story lines, so dont get your hopes up... You should really be looking at their weekly posts to try and pick up clues.

Ugh, I really hope time travel isn't part of the plot. That's so lame and such a cop out for writers.

Sadly I'v been ill all this week, I'v had the flu! not the bird flu that will kill ya, the normal flu that gives you a right hook then keeps kicking you when your down! I had liquid pooring from everywhere! EVERYWHERE! I must of looked like one of the flood!
Anyway with all this halo speak I decided to pull out and play Halo 1 and the bane of my life, Halo 2!
Now to some important questions, revalations and answers that I didn't know!
1. I'd never seen the cut scene at the end of Halo with Guilty Spark
2. WHAT! The space station that's in the gas giant was built by the forerunners!
3. Gravemind absorption of Regret! It suggests that his role is to preserve the minds and memories of dead individuals or perhaps even species plus he can animate dead tissue, might he have a connection with the flood! Is that what the flood was created for?
4. When the prophet Mercy dies he says the line "this time, none of you will be left behind"! Hmmmm what did he mean?
5. The answer that Halo is built to starve the flood got me thinking, it also stores the flood I don't know why it just does, could the flood and the forerunners be one in the same? gentetic mutation, evolution something that made them transform?
and last but not least,
6. WHAT THE HELL DOES MASTER CHEIF LOOK LIKE!!!

"Supposedly Cousteau and his cronies invented the idea of putting walkie-talkies into the helmet. But we made ours with a special rabbit ear on the top so we could pipe in some music". - Steve Zissou

if anyone's read ghosts of onyx...
...Earth's probably the same thing as Onyx, a shield world, but with the added benefit of being able to destroy all sentient life in the galaxy.

Yes i have just finished it, and i think you might be right, it would be nice if we can get the other spartans on that book in the game, then it would be great working as a game.
