This isn't right!!! Whoever put together the sound & light effects for this Phaser of mine should be shot (preferably with a Phaser, set to it's maximum setting)!!! They musn't have watched Star Trek ever in their lives cos it sounds nothing like a "real" phaser, and the flickering power meter, gawd!!! Glad I was planning on gutting it and making a custom electronics kit (something that preferably I can store WAV files of a correct phaser sound on, probably a PIC of somesort)... Says "Playmates" on the bottom, and Copyright 1996, so I hope by now they've sorted it out!!!!

Should have gotten the one before that. It had one good sound and the other sucked. Amazon.com: Star Trek the Next Generation Phaser: Toys & Games Had this one myself... Painted the red tip black and tried to build in a cheap laser pointer

Playmates stuff was always cheap crap, if you want something decent you've got to pay the bucks for it. Master replicas TOS phaser is the dogs b0ll0cks, but i don't think they do a TNG one or if they did it's not available anymore.
