This isn't right!!!

Whoever put together the sound & light effects for this Phaser of mine should be shot (preferably with a Phaser, set to it's maximum setting)!!! They musn't have watched Star Trek ever in their lives cos it sounds nothing like a "real" phaser, and the flickering power meter, gawd!!! Glad I was planning on gutting it and making a custom electronics kit (something that preferably I can store WAV files of a correct phaser sound on, probably a PIC of somesort)...

Says "Playmates" on the bottom, and Copyright 1996, so I hope by now they've sorted it out!!!!

For I dipt into the future, as far as human eye could see,
saw a vision of the world and the wonders that would be...

What exactly are you talking about? Would help if you provided a link to the animation/sound or whatever it is that made you so upset

Er, the sound effects and the flickering power meter on a 1996 Playmates First Contact Type II "Boomerang" phaser, I have it here next to me, but I have no microphone to record the dodgy sounds....

And one more thing, the belt clip?!?!?! I've not seen one "real" phaser with a belt clip as they sit in holsters!!! Bleedin' terrible!!!

This be my Phaser:

eBay.co.uk: STAR TREK FIRST CONTACT BOOMERANG PHASER. (item 220063268376 end time 25-Dec-06 15:49:04 GMT)

Should have gotten the one before that. It had one good sound and the other sucked.

Amazon.com: Star Trek the Next Generation Phaser: Toys & Games

Had this one myself... Painted the red tip black and tried to build in a cheap laser pointer

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

I actually had one of these...then again that was 10 years ago, when I was, you know, a KID

It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive...

Playmates stuff was always cheap crap, if you want something decent you've got to pay the bucks for it.

Master replicas TOS phaser is the dogs b0ll0cks, but i don't think they do a TNG one or if they did it's not available anymore.

Andrew March doesn't live here anymore, his place has been donated to the NUMPTIES!!!
