If OSX is so much better than any windows environment, why does microsoft pwn the world? I can count the number of mac computers I saw in the last five years actually being used by people on one hand. I'm not knocking macs, but if they were that great, every home would have one in it and every business would be using them.

i find it stupid, to compare those OSs by so common stuff like search bar or those widgets. I mean, they were avaible on XP as well and any other OS has that too. K, the chess board might be a rip of, but who cares.
After all, it's just stupid fan boy issue btw. mac and win users, which is, in my opinion, totally obsolete and waste of time.

No, it's just funny because microsoft tries to sell Vista as an innovative product – a product which would render ALL of my apps completely useless because they do_not_work reliably on vista nor will they ever unless they are totally revamped from the start up (surely, microsoft likes to force companies to do that, of course without any kind of easy migration tools like a certain other company offers). Vista is just a huge pile of **** from a software architecture point of view, not to speak about the nifty DRM "features". Oh…it's also the most colorful Windows ever (read: Pain to the eye). Although i do own a Mac for very good reasons (and always have) my main environment is XP, speaking of 3d. We can't use Vista. Simple as that. Microsoft should be laughed at and everyone who goes out to actually buy this piece of utter software garbage should be shot.

Microsoft doesn't care about their users (actually they never do – think of Word. How the HELL can you make something sooo simple SO TOTALY unintuitive, overloaded, unstable…drifting off here.) Point is, everyone who's making fun of Long…Vista is pretty much right in what he's doing. There's no point in Mac vs. PC issue, never has been. This ain't one though. It's just Vista compared to common sense, and Vista fails big time.

Because windows is a Operating System..and Apple is a Computer CIE...and Apple have always been targeted mostly for artist as SGi computers were targeted to the CG industry for a long time.Apple Addapted..SGi did'nt

Also because Windows worked on non-proprietary hardware, you could run out and buy new video cards, network cards, etc. if you wanted while with Apple it was never quite that easy, they backed themselves into a corner there as flexibility won. I haven't kept up with Apple technology lately so I'm sure this has changed, maybe?

And don't be too hard on Microsoft stealing Windows... let's remember that Apple stole their windows interface from Xerox, the true creators.

And as a side note... dear gods, who made Al a moderator??? When the hell did this happen???

Well if you look from the one corner...Vista is inovative, i mean now Pc users can do a lot of stuff mac users do for years.

My view on it is pretty simple, Microsoft have made a very usable operating system for the masses who just want to chat, email and surf the web- with the occasional letter thrown in there. With the abandonment of OpenGL and lack of support for 3D applications, it's probably going to alienate most of the professional market...

Professional graphics market that is. Plenty of other industries use computers for a living too.

That said, from my perspective, Microsoft seems so far to have sacrificed its monopoly on the Office and Gaming/Developer market in favour of proving a point to home users.
