Losing Motivation

im sure weve all felt the highs and lows in motivation, as a project progresses, sometimes they turn from exciting/interesting projects to something that feels like a chore, ive had one or 2 projects like this and i really hate when it happens.

id like to here about how you guys restored your motivation in a project your working on?

With me I used to be REALLY bad about that with personal projects. Lately it's just a matter of finding motivation... usually a book, movie, something that collides nicely with the subject - usually helps. Then once you get modeling, it's a matter of just keep going - try not to let yourself be distracted.

Hell; my sirius has been in the works for about a year now; it's had it's falls and it's pickups. Tbph, even taking a break is good sometimes, but still keep in mind that you'll need to come back to it. Once your break has gone on for a while just track something down that's like it; look around for great models similer to it and just sit down, shut up and work sorta hehe; the rest comes naturally! Once you get started, you keep going for a few hours usually; just make the best use of those sperts and it'll come in time... just dont let yourself give up - find that thing about yourself which makes you motivated and artistic... then take advantage of it.

if you ever do lose motivation just take a break, with time it'll come back again, look at the things that inspired you to start the project in the first place and it should come back in no time, I don't think anyone starts a personal project without some sort of inspiration

I pity the fool!

yeah, I agree with that and also keep in mind there will almost always be a part of a project where you just have to plug away through the parts that are not really interesting to you. keep working through them and then you'll hit a section that will get you more motivated... but I know I have my share of projects that I've shelved for long periods of time....

What IRML says has quite a lot of sense. When i', demotivated-"deactivated"... just like now i am... i just take a rest... i haven't touched MAX for some time now, i play games, see movies... play more games (Dawn of War ), i read books... Whatever necessary to recharge batteries and retake the job with better possibilities.
So if you are demotivated, get a rest, do something funny and entertaining, then take a deep breath and the game is on!

You mean you still practice teleportation? How quaint! Now, if you got yourself a decent forklift truck...
