The return of Firefly?

So, I'm not sure how much weight this carries, but apparantly there's a petition out for HBO or Showtime to pick up firefly. I don't know if it'll work or not, or even if these two networks is even considering resurrecting the series, but you know. What the hell, take a second and sign the petition, yeah?

Petition Spot - Request to have HBO or Showtime adopt and continue the Firefly television series

Cheers,
Nick

I don't see it happening. This comes up from time to time, nothing comes of it, and Joss Whedon killed off half the characters in Serenity. Can't imagine Firefly without Wash or Shepherd.

They could just set it before the film.

Still I'll beleive it when I see it.

A full on sex, swearing and violence firefly would kick arse though.

Actually, Whedon has already said that in a second movie Wash would be brought back (he didn't say how, but it was apparently a feasible method). What he has also said however, is not so many words, is that the studios in question would have to come back to him on their knees and beg if they wanted him to work with them again.

Me, I think that's pretty final - I've never seen a studio do that before, especially on something that they considered a loss-leader.

No question is a stupid question if you don't know the answer - If you need help (and you can find us), ask the (Sens)A-Team.

One of the most stylish in years - just a shame circumstance killed it instead of poor ratings.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites, I'd love to see it back on again.

Thanks nhall, now I have to go watch an episode or two.

We won’t know if we don't try.
Also we are an intentional community, which would mean that there are people form around the world that what to see it come back, not just in the US.
They need to see the big picture not just the US Picture!
