I am sick of people coming to my door

Trying to get me to switch gas and electric companies.

Someone tried this today while I was off sick from work, and plowing my way through all the sci fi I had taped from last week.

I just opened the door, and before he could say a word said "I am not interested in switching companies"

He looked a little taken back, then asked "can I at least ask who you are with now?"

To which I replied "no" and shut the door.

seriously though here in England I dont have people coming up to my door its more of them calling my house 24/7. Freaking annoying.

I am in england, thats funny, I could have sworn my location field was filled in before.

We don't have that exact problem here as there is only the gov't run public utilities. Telemarketers used to be annoying but I haven't had a single one since I put my name on the national Do Not Call list.

Still, there's kids selling cookies and magazines, canvassers, pollsters, Jehovah's Witnesses . . . having a couple big dogs in the yard helps.

i remember a few months back i was coming home from work and saw my girlfriend at the door argueing with a little indian man, when i got closer to the door i could here him going on about changing Gas/Power companies, i got to the front door, he moved out the way (after my asking him three times to move) and as i went to close it he put his foot in the door. When he tried to sell me the same lines he'd tried on Alina i bluntly told him if he didnt remove his foot from my property within 5 seconds he'd loose the foot. He soon got the idea (and a broken foot i hope). Since then, not a single door to door gas supplier has come up my driveway .....tho the Witnessess dont seem to get the point..nor the double glazing salesmen....drunk teenagers...."free lance" DIY experts....annoying family memmbers........the list goes on

I used to have a trashy stoner chick living across the street who would come by to use the phone every now and then. She was annoying but there was entertainment value to be had. One time she was so baked she tried talking into the dvd remote. Reminded me of the ST movie where Scotty talks into the mouse. "Computer? . . . Hello, computer!"

Then she came by at 3 am wanting a place for her and her boyfriend to stay because their landlord had kicked them out, and it was time to release the hounds.

Cell phone is for communication, land line is for DSL.

I know a friend that uses pornos as a means of fending off annoying people who want to sell things or such, Of course he at least tries to make sure its one of those and not a girl scout or friend, or family. anyone else is fair game especially the religious one....
