I must admit a bit of disappointment. I mean, 10 fps is nice, but remember how the mk II has a 16.7 MP sensor? Well, a few months back Canon was promising a 32 MP sensor on the mk III. Those numbers may not make any difference to you or me (after all 10.1 is more than enough resolution for a sweet 12x18 print), to the pro submitting work to publishers, they need that extra resolution--even people shooting on the mk. II have to upsize to meet print requirements.

That said, there are a number of reasons to be very excited about the mk III...who knows, perhaps some of the tech will one day trickle down to cameras I can actually afford

It's not a habit, it's cool, I feel alive...

the 1D MkIII is replacing the 1D MkIIn the 8megapixel sports camera. The 16megapixel body is the 1D Mk IIs which will be eventually replaced by the 1D MkIIIs I suppose sometime later this year or nextm which will most likely be a 22mp body. I can see about contacting my Canon rep and ask about that lol. But this one is an improvement over the 8mp body for sure.. but I don't think I like it having the live view function.

I'd say forgot that though and go for the Mamiya ZD. 22mp medium format sensor baby! lol

and I am a Nikon person too...waiting to see what the D3X will be like...in what 2 years from now? lol

Already tried that- they won't say a thing about the 1Ds MkIII yet.
