| Starship Farragut - New TOS Fanfilm Series http://starshipfarragut.com/ ![]() There wasn´t much talk about this fanfilm during its production but I just finished watching their first episode (download mirror) and immediately fell in love with it. A good mix of humor and serious elements, promising chemistry between the main cast, music on a semi-professional level, CG effects which are surprisingly good for a fanfilm and a story which fits nicely into a slightly modernized view of TOS. I know there´s quite a few TOS fanfilms out there and some have managed to make people dread the announcement of any new project in that direction but this one is surprisingly good and I hope people will give it a chance rather than just badmouthing it. [edit]Could someone please edit the title (Starship Farragut - New TOS fanfilm series)?[/edit] |

| Wooden acting, silly martial arts (Kirk Fu anyone?), cheesy settings except for the excellent ship sets, good cgi. All so appropriate to a properly made TOS era fanfilm. I loved it, especially as they're paying attention to canon and don't toy with established characters. The guest appearance of the Enterprise, even the New Voyages version, was a nice conclusion and send-off to a series. I hope there's going to be one. |
