the computers acting wierd (understatment), so im reformating, do any of you guys know how?

Just put the Windows cd in you're optical drive and reset, then the computer will boot from the cdrom and it will tell you what to do.

Make sure you're first boot device is the optical drive. And backup all data you want to keep.

You can also go the hard route and try to solve the weird things your computer is doing

But what Eagle said is probably the easier/faster route. Just make sure to triple check what you need to backup, cause I always end up forgetting something.

hmmm, ok. So i just put the windows disc in and reboot? then select to boot from disc?

I barely have anything on there in the first place, ill just save a few pics and maybe a bunch of text documents, everything else is games.

man, maybe i should do it tonight. Its a good thing i have two computers, so if i mess up i can get help lol.

how long do you think it will take with a 150 gig raptor?

Depends on how you format I suggest you google system rebuild and xp reinstall.
Just in case you have to muck about in the bios.
I have ahd systems up on 200gig hdds complete install in about 1 to 2 hours. Id set aside about 3 hours so you can get all the drivers etc in.
You dont say what system IE vendor HP DELL or if its a boutique or cutsom system. If its not a dell or some name brand youll have to install the 4in1s and other drivers. If it is a name brand often your xp disc is a restore disc and will operate totaly diffrent than a full XP disc at that stage youll have to refer to the documentation. Once you reinstall turn off activeX maybe that will help some in keeping the "weird" away. >_>

Just remember if the computer restarts don't touch anything when it says HIT ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD.
