| Andrew, I replied to your post at Cornucopia, so I'll post here for balance. 1) I don't work for E-On or Cornucopia, I'm an unpaid forum mod(materials and terrain) so I am *not* posting in an official capacity. 2) The TOS at Cornucopia sure does give them the right to use any gallery post Quote:
Did you post it to E-on for their Pic of the Day? If so again, terms DO allow them to your pic and Cornucopia is OWNED by E-On. So, did you upload any pic to the Cornucopia gallery or E-on's pic of the day? If so...they would seem to be in the legal right. While I think it would have been nice to email you, to tell you your pic was going to be used, as common courtesy...real life tells us Murphy's Law gets in the way and poor shmucks don't deserve to be bad mouthed because someone forgot to check if you'd been asked. 3) If you did NOT upload anything to E-On or Cornucopia, or to some other group legally affiliated with or entitled to use/sell your work...then you've got legitimate reason to be p*ssed. 4) The only commnets you posted on the Cornucopia galleries, were two complaints that the artists had not credited the creators of models in their scenes....negative, non-constructive criticism. You may be a fantastic artist but you don't earn respect doing that, you know? To be honest, I personally was P*SSED OFF MAD at folk on this forum who got prissy, because I didn't know the name of a background ship I'd used in a render. I stated in the initial post it was not my model, but I didn't know what the ship was or who had made it, I always try to be upfront about such things, but am not anally retentive. I save my models with where/who/when created/from etc when I can. But if I'm doing non-commerical work, and I honeslty don't know who made a model, big deal. I tell folk what I know of items I use, including, sometimes "I don't know". But nooooo, a couple of folk here got uppity because I didn't know the name of a SW ship or the model's maker.....I'm sorry, much as I loved the first films I'm not a Star Wars nerd (I'm a D&D nerd!), I didn't know it was a SW ship, and it took me a lot of work to find out who had made it just, to put their zealotry at bay, omg! All a lot of grief I personally can do without because you, sir, are not the only grouch on the planet, the difference being I try not to be grouchy because I'm in constant pain and I'd rather be mellow and pleasant and nice, because....it makes the world better for fluffy bunnies and requires more effort than to rant So I did not tell them to go **** themselves with barbed wire for being up tight artistic "Hyacinth Buckets" , but I remaind friendly in posting, despite being angry at their attitude. My point being, I wish you had ben a tad more friendly in your post on Cornucopia, 'cause you didn't earn any brownie points for your side, sigh. Andrew's post on Corncopia can be found here. | Newstwattie | My problem isn't only with them using my image without permission but with the fact that the credits have been removed, the image uses Howard Day's Hornet. All it takes is someone to ask, can I use your image. Silverblade-T-E, you say Cornucopia are in the right, nowhere on thier site does it mention that Cornucopia can use your work, it says that E-on can you use it to promote Vue. Nowhere on the site does it say that Cornucopia are owned by E-on, to top it all of today they closed my account and I still had money in it! Anyway I think this should serve as a warning for anyone considering postin their work over at Cornuripoff3d.com Glazy, I'm sorry you've had the same thing happen to you, it just stinks man. Could we close this please |
