Or....someone here at SFM could adapt SFM ~itself~ to include "S.T.: Australia", Scifi-Art, and / or "S.T.: Miranda"'s updated Trek & Non-Trek mesh library directories, in the event the original owner(s) decide to agree with SFM's management in order to make S.F.M. even better, if that's even possible. An internet first!

Well I got GIGS of webspace for ST Australia if he even needed a home, Sci Fi Visions would be honored to host it for free and forever..

okay, time to get this ball rolling and see where it goes. i'm also a friend of andy's here in the merry old land of oz, and i can confirm a couple of things...

1. andy is alive and well. i ran in to him a couple of weeks ago and he's definately still breathing, although busy with real life...
2. that dodgy old computer of his is finally dead, and he can't replace it at present. replacing it could be academic at the moment, as i've got a P3 here i could have lent him too but he also has no internet at the moment either...
3. thanks to andy and his wonderful hoarding, i do have a (we believe) complete copy of the STA site and all of the files from it.
4. i've contacted the people that now hold the original .com domain name, and the company that is holding it has it parked and doesn't wish to part with it at this time. that's their choice, and i support it, as i buy, develop and/or park domains myself. it dropped, they bought it, end of story.

andy will most likely be back eventually, but trying to force that isn't going to help make it happen any sooner. in the interim, andy is happy for me to use the original content to build a new site with his blessing.

so, in order to get the site back up online a couple of things need to happen, but the most important one to begin with is we need to find a suitable name for it. i don't have any worries actually buying or hosting the domain, but i haven't been able to think of a decent name that isn't already taken.

i'd like to throw it out there to see what you can come up with, and if something decent can be found i'll register it and start putting the old content up. i'll definately need some help with building a new site (i'm a lousy web designer), depending on the server load as the site grows i may take up that offer of hosting (got my own dedi though for now) and i could probably use a hand actually updating pictures and all references to the old domain (1.86GB and over 11000 files, many of those compressed archives).

any thoughts or ideas out there ?

startrek europe by trekfan1 is a full mirror of STA. You could coordinate with him.

Current WIPS: None 'cause I'm a lazy bastard.
