Muaha.

I used to play Counterstrike on a AMD K6-2 450 and 550er recently...
I had a ping about 120ms (because of the CPU) *G*
Funny to know, since the first CS versions were played on that machine without any problem and even a 56k. modem! *G*

But back ontopic. Hope nobody get's depressed, when reading the following part...:About the problem of people-vanishing:

It's hard to tell, what happend to inetpeople one don't know really. IF they vanish, almost nobody can explain why.
For example there was a girl on SCN who's injured in Army some months ago (if I remember right [I think she used to have an account here, too]).
If there wouldn't have been friends, telling that to the community, nobody would have known.

Think about your own: If you would have a lethal accident....
Who'd go to know it really? Would your mom be clever enough to tell it all your ICQ-friends?
Would your closefriends have the IDs of all your close WC3players?
Could your girlfriend know every guestbook and link where she should mention you're death?
Woud somebody know that he has to tell the webspace provider, that you're gone?? You can continue this list... I guess only few peoples have "My last Inet-will" in their testament. Me sure not. There would be hundreds of people to inform, for just one reason: I'm gone.
Well. If it happens, they will know, even without such preparations...
don't you think?

I'm used to loos peoples in net because they have trouble in life and have to find back their true life,... I guess that's the MOST common reason for people vanishing online...

So...: Don't worry. Sure he's fine - fighting against some common life problem.

I think this has been addressed in several threads already.

The site, and the webmaster, is currently MIA.

Well whatever the case might be, I'm more than willing to "sponsor/host" a site that was as detailed and deticated as STA was. For me it was THE de facto site to go to for all things Trek, next is startrekmeshes.ch which is more than okay but it's just missing that extra oomph.

Well, if you're looking for the best damn place to find Trek models on the internet, I'm hoping that we can get Scifi-Meshes to that level...The new models area is being looked at right now...The biggest thing will be populating it and you guys can help with that in two ways:
1) Submitting your own models for us to put online
2) Contacting the authors of other models and asking if they mind if their creations are hosted on our site. There is only a few of us Admins but if the community helped us out with this, we could rapidly grow into the best scifi model repository on the net!

Contact Eric Tiermanner-whateverhisname over at trekmeshes.ch, he's got a lot of Max/LWO meshes that were the same ones on STA, it's a start if you can get copies of those meshes and contact info for their authors.

I'm more then willing to build a custom PHP/SQL site for scifimeshes' model hosting if you're interested.

Current WIPS: None 'cause I'm a lazy bastard.

Yep, looks like at least some of STA has survived there.
What a pitty, that his cool background images didn't make it. Luck guy, who has his CD's with all of them on it.
