Title Bout

Ok so I was sifting through some old issues of a magazine and it had a review of the BSG mini series in it. They rated it well but said that they preferred Firefly (it was still going strong) just that little bit more! This gave me an idea for a thread!
What's this thread then your asking? well each week, on a thursday, one of us (who ever gets there first) will post in this thread a head to head topic and the rest of us have a discussion on which one we prefer! The subjects can be on anything from Star Trek Vs. Star Wars to Coca-Cola Vs. Pepsi!
After looking at the film music and similar threads most of us (myself included) are giving the answers but not telling us why! I thought in this thread we would explain why we like it, when we first saw or encounted it, who it makes us feel etc. this way we all get to know a bit more about each other.

The Rules
1. One subject per week
2. No flaming or arguing, it's a discussion!

Ok so with all that out the way I present the first Title Bout...

BSG Vs. FIREFLY

Methinks this be a bad idea Hal - Rule 2 will be out of the window before you can breath...

No question is a stupid question if you don't know the answer - If you need help (and you can find us), ask the (Sens)A-Team.

What, I think this is a good idea, it's tell a little story on which you prefer and who you came to your choice! Give it a chance, and if arguing starts then close it straight away, no arguments from me!

You know, as much as I like BSG, I think Firefly is the winner. Now, we only have 13 episodes and a movie to go on, but one does get the feeling that the show would always be an absolute winner. It was more of an escape than Galactica, more fun overall. Not that I think all sci-fi has to be fun, and Firefly did have its serious moments, but sometimes BSG seems too much like watching CNN. It beats you over the head a bit with the allusions to current events sometimes.

Well I have only seen the Moive so I can't say Firefly is better than BSG.
Untill I have seen Firefly, I will have to go with BSG, but of course that can change.

I reckon the thread should be able to stay sensible, but I'm going to make one condition:

No Star Trek Vs Star Wars

it's a tired old subject with entire websites and (probably) religions devoted to it, and I wont tolerate another pointless bitching session between equally sad members of the community about which one's weapons are the more powerful.

If you guys can keep to that, then this thread should be fine.

Of course the nerd in me wants to point out that firefly is in BSG, at least the mini series anyway.

BSG might make you think, but firefly is more entertaining, although less so in serenity.

I have no problem with that, we all know Star Trek: The Empier Strick Back is best.
