Well for some reason Neal McDonough springs to mind. If he buffs up a bit he could make a pretty good Capt.

To a company thereīs no such thing as too many sales. And if you take the characterīs existing popularity and pack the actorīs popularity on top of that it sure wonīt decrease the possible revenue.
Not exactly comparable but look at Mace Windu in Star Wars. While in this case the character itself was as unimportant as it gets, Jacksonīs face turned it into an additional advantage for the marketing campaigns and a noteable story element.
In case of Nick Fury you simply have an already popular character and boost it with the actorīs popularity even further.

Personally I couldnīt care less since I prefer the classic Nick Fury (Darkness probably prefers the one from the 90īs movie ).
But then again I also prefer the 90īs X-Men costumes as well and wouldīve preferred them to simply darken them as much as possible and turn them into layered protective gear (like leather gear for bikers merged with bullet-proof vests).

Somebody blow something up, I'm in a really bad mood. Thanks in advance.
