They stole the idea from me!!! JK

This was a Halloween costume I put together a few years back. Now I want to try the big raptor (without the animatronics, sadly).

Seven gets you ten its for the revamp of Disney's Animal Kingdom dinosaur section at Disney World. And yeah, that'll be seriously cool!

Speaking of which, at AK right now they have a battery-powered, computer controlled raptor that walks around the park. It's "life sized" (ie - it's the size of a dinonychus, REAL velociraptors are half the size they are portrayed at), reacts to stimuli and pulls a popcorn cart as I recall.

Never saw the thing in person, but I've seen a "making of" documentary on Science. Seriously keen thingamabob!

Now, wouldn't it be cool if someone put this level of robotics and animatronics into, say, a bucket-head model of Cylon centurion for BSG season 4?

Really great

Iv always felt phyical sets props and models where pushed too harshly to the side for CG. Some films loosing a certain quality to them.

But i can hope that changes where theres a good mix of cg with physical effects.

This dino show stuff is great Its just a shame they used repeated sound effects... Could of made some veriations.

If you've seen Pan's Labyrinth they had Pan's legs fixed in CG to remove Doug Jones real legs so he appears to be walking on goat legs. Same as they removed the performer working C3-PO in The Phantom Menace, these type of creations would look cool in a movie if they did digital removal on the performers, mechanics and traditional techniques have come on so much in the last 10 years or so, they'd look pretty realin the right sort of environment and lighting !
