The massive battle at the end of Serenity that blows Episode 3 out the water! thats a fantastic battle even if it's a little short! It's just got a great cinematic feel to it, the effects are fantastic! it's innovative, feels fresh and while it's all going on there is great humor coming from the characters!

Like Hal, I loved the battle at the end of Serenity as Serenity weaved it's way through the chaos.

I also enjoyed the submarine styles battles in Wing Commander, though I'm surprised to hear others agree.

Starship Troopers as the Roger Young got torn apart over the Bug Planet. it had a very World war 2 feel to it, like what the bombers, the Lancasters and such went through in order to drop their payloads.

Star Wars, the attack on the Death Star.

I'd love to see the DS9 battles towards the end of the sereis, but I'm gonna have to wait until the box sets come down DRASTICALLY in price. IE when they cost less than a car to buy.

Thumbs up

When i was a kid i really loved the battle at the end of Return of the Jedi. It was breathtaking. It still is and holds up very well to todays standard of effects. Even better in most cases. As I've grown up through the years it's become simple, as most everything star wars related makes me feel now.
Realism seems to top my list of demands now.
Battlestar Galactica's attack on the Resurrection ship is one battle that makes me feel i need to watch it over and over again. It's is very short and i would love to see an extended sequence of this or something similar, but that's the beauty of Galactica. It makes the battle the exception and when we get one, we really are salivating for it and it pays off when we get one.

Best,
-Paul

I like ROTS battle (I wish it were longer).
Wing Commander (the side by side torpedo was pretty cool).
Babylon 5 (I really like "A Call To Arms").
Battlestar Galactica the new series (I like the battle sequences).
Stargate ( I like battle when the Ori first came through the gate, and Stargate Atlantis, the battle with the 2 hive ships).

Yes! Those scenes were absolutely amazing. Also, I'd say some of the stuff in the Legends of the Galactic Heroes anime is worthy and for books I'd definitely nominate David Weber's "Empire from the Ashes."
